Biffy Clyro- Puzzle- What's your opinion?
Elizabeth replied to glennbuchan's topic in Music Discussion
Okay, okay. ...but still, FOLDING STARS. How can you say that's not emotive? Blackened Sky's got a lot of typically "emo" lyrics on it but they're no way near as personal as the lyrics to some of the stuff on Puzzle. "I stroke your silken skin, kiss you goodbye, your eyes just pierce me through I am bleeding with blood I'd give to you, to be the way we were I still feel the pain in my heart, thoughts once pure are now diluted We sat and watched the sun go down We wrapped together in each other's arms Never felt so complete as when we're alone on the sand at night I still feel the pain in my heart, thoughts once pure are now diluted I love the way your hair hangs over your eyes, crush me with your stare If I could fly to you I would to be the way we were I still feel the pain in my heart, thoughts once pure are now diluted It's alright now, it's alright now, it's alright now, it's alright now" Yeah, emotive. "I would dig a thousand holes to lay next to you I would dig a thousand more if I needed to I look around the grave for an escape route of old routines There doesnt seem to be any other way Cause Ive started falling apart Im not savouring life Ive forgotten how good it could be to feel alive Crazy as it sounds you wont feel as low as you feel right now At least thats what I've been told by everyone I whisper empty sounds in your ear and hope that you wont let go Take the pieces and build them skywards Cause I've started falling apart Im not savouring life I've forgotten how good it could be to feel alive I've started falling apart I'm not savouring life Take the pieces and build them skywards I've forgotten how good it could be to feel alive Take the pieces and build them skywards" I'd say that was pretty emotive too, tbh. -
Biffy Clyro- Puzzle- What's your opinion?
Elizabeth replied to glennbuchan's topic in Music Discussion
...whit?! How can you possibly say they've done ANYTHING more emotive than Folding Stars?! It may not be the best song on the album, or on their whole discography by far, but, I mean, nothing they've ever done has been that personal and emotive! I actually really like Puzzle. Better than Infinity Land, but, they're both totally different; Infinity Land's got a lot of complex stuff, whereas, as it's been said before, Puzzle is a lot more straight forward. -
See You Tonight: New Onion Terror Single!

What you should've done is only underlined the 'You' then put a winking face () at the end. ...I bought it anyway. -

What are the stage times for this gig by the way? We're thinking of hitting this AND the Meet Me In St. Louis one... -
Is there a point in wisdom teeth except for pain? Really, is there?

How fast is this selling by the way? I'd quite like to go, but apparently One Up don't have any so I was just thinking of buying at the door? -
Nine Black Alps + Support This Sunday
Elizabeth replied to JOHN BEVERLY's topic in Gigs & Event Announcements
THE Nine Black Alps? The ones who cancelled on us two years ago and never came back? I might go to this, I was looking forward to that gig. -
e-mailed. P.S. I apologise for the appalling grammar in that e-mail; I just got really excited/scared.

GLENN. If you still have this ticket going spare I will love you forever and put your band on all the time and... buy all your CDs? Seriously though, hook a brother up?
-
Bump? I have discovered I am actually terrified of travelling down for the Saturday on my own and would very much like a NICE offer from someone with a weekend camping ticket going spare. Don't be a bastard with the price. I'm genuinely scared.

What Cd's have you been buying recently?
Elizabeth replied to Paranoid Android's topic in Music Discussion
Recently, I have bought: The Twilight Sad - Fourteen Autumns and Fifteen Winters Micah P Hinson - The Baby and the Satellite (fucking steal at Avanlanche in Glasgow going for 1.99, when, on amazon it's 7.99 (H)) Tilly & the Wall - Bottoms of Barrels Great Lake Swimmers - Ongiara Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Yanqui U.X.O Hope of the States - The Lost Riots Biffy Clyro - Puzzle (special edition) ...it's been an expensive month. :$ -
I love this album, actually. Better than Infinity Land, imo. 9/15ths is just fantastic. A Whole Child Ago is just a brilliant pop song and Machines is just, ahhh. ...and #1 in mid-week Album charts? That's gotta be pretty fucking huge.

Biffy Clyro @ Music Hall, 30/5/07
Elizabeth replied to KarmaTsunami's topic in Gigs & Event Announcements
Last headline slot, aye. However, they're still playing the Summer festivals and Connect's going to be their last EVER performance. :'( Biffy last night = fucking incredible. Craig acknowledging (I think?) my shouts for Wood = Also awesome, although, they were going to play it anyway; it's nice to know you get heard, through killing your throat. Them ignoring my shouts for A Simple Process of Elimination = , although, I knew they were never in hell going to play it. -
Speaking of Biffy tickets, I've got an Edinburgh Exchange ticket going spare if anyone's interested?

Awesome. Turns out I didn't cave at all and promptly deleted all the tracks. (H)
