  1. No, obviously not, but what is this "Samuel Beckett at 100: A Festival" thing that's been on every night this week? Is it a dramatic performance? And do you have to pay for it? And how long does it last?
  2. That's exactly what I'm doing. So many people want to grow-up too soon: going to pubs and clubs at 15, learning to drive as soon as they're 17, deciding what they're gonna "be" before they've left school...All being well, I've over 50 years to be an adult, so forgive me if I cling to pre-adulthood a little bit longer. But, you say your parents booted you out, so I guess you had no option, and you've done well for yourself. I'd like to think ,in such a situation, I'd have taken to busking on the cobbled streets of Old Europe, but...I'm just a dreamer. Which makes the point as to who is more radical a moot one, as it's a state of mind. The alternative to bourgeois life is bohemian life, but since we don't have a Latin Quarter and crumbling mansions waiting to be squatted in, this is impossible. So my approach is summed up thus: "He said "you want to turn it on its head by staying in bed", I said "I know I do"
  3. Christ, Yousef, aren't you glad we didn't go?
  4. Hey, what did I say! But since you mention it, you're right, he works with my da', which is why I have the inside-track on all things APB
  5. Stupid question probaby, but who is headlining?
  6. Please send all your apb-related chatter this way: www.aberdeen-music.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28027 I'll post some links to reviews of the re-release...sometime
  7. Maximum respect. What a time to be alive. My first album was Urban Hymns by the Verve, which I wasn't ashamed of at the time, but I am now, whereas my first single was Romeo by Bassment Jaxx, which I was ashamed of at the time, but I am not now. Fancy!
  8. Don't worry, "Dig!" is so much more than just a documentary or a film: it's an ideal for living. Damn straight
  9. I knew when I read the title of this thread, it would make me say something stupid like: an un-unionised worker is worse than a paedophile. The 6 people I saw outside Schoolhill are not to be mocked, they are heroes, Well, no, actually, they're just doing what every person with any sense of community should be doing. Just like those few folk who will demonstrate against our troops being kept in Iraq at uni next week. I don't agree with their cause, but they are still far greater human beings than the maker of this thread and those which will inevitably mock them, by default.
  10. Christy, you'll have to set-up a booth on campus...tomorrow. How else are we to get from you?
  11. This is perfect. ALL bands should release 3 singles and then split, but they're more of a post-modern prank than a band, so it's even more essential that they split just as they're getting huge.
  12. Au contraire. I think it tells you all you need to know about a band when the question of whether they're good or not hinges on the PRODUCTION, and even the bloody snare sound, on their albums. That goes for the likes of PiL and the Cocteau Twins, too.
  13. Yes, several, but a "hive" isn't a..complex, it's one place. Which place stands out above the rest?
  14. Oh yeah, you're the drummer now, aren't you? That means you get the credit for bringing da funk
