  1. I'm confused. This threat started as discussion of the glory that is asda green bag chips and some how changed to a discussion of body size. Can we go back to the chips and cheese thing. that's my fave. although, If you're looking to put on weight some_kinda_hate. I have this protein rich mouth wash that I can supply you with! Its organic heheh. (am I allowed to say that?) Pete inthehills
  2. children children. play nice. Pete
  3. yeah, dum gits. I was stood near them and wanted to give em a slap. Nice one Alan Cynic. The crowd really warmed to you after the death to phillip song. Half man half biscuit were absolutely brilliant. Great banter, great songs. Their cover of love song by the Damned was brilliant. I want to go see them again Pete
  4. he who laughs last.... ....thinks slowest Pete
  5. pah! born in Cheshire, slowly moved north and east via Manchester/Leeds/Newcastle and finally stopped in Aberdeen. Although I used to spend my time sitting on a rusty bit of metal in north sea, I now spend it sitting in an office writing about things found by other folk on rusty bits of metal in the north sea. I'm the 30something guy standing at the back of gigs glowering at the young people around me. Pete
  6. the news says the UK is "gearing up for blizzard conditions". Pah! just 'cos London is going to get a few flakes. Bring on the snow I say. I'll be snowed in at home in the hills and won't be able to come to work. (As long as I can get home after the gig tonight.) Pete
  7. that was most amusing. well done. Pete
  8. most of our building lost power and all the computers went down at work, but not mine oddly enough. pete
  9. Another trip down memory lane for me. I first saw the wedding present nearly 18 years ago. And last night they were just as good as the first time. Dave Gedge still chats to the audience and reacts to shouts. The music was still full of energy, angst and humour. Shame they haven't learnt to do encores though. A damn fine gig indeed. Pete
  10. bt building? the one near the station? train spotting is your only hope. Pete
  11. didn't we do this sometime in the summer? for the record. I've sold my soul to the devil and work for an evil oil company raping the world of natures bounty. Pete
  12. yeah, its the weddos. I'm guessing that it won't be that busy 'cos only folk who were young in the 80's will know them. Pete
  13. I've got tickets for a gig at a place called Moshulu. I understand that is the place where long haired young people with tattoos and intimate piercing go to have a "good time". I acknowledge that some of the young people have shaved heads, but the tattoos and piercing are de rigour. what's it like for gigs? Does it really start at 7 and finish at 10 on a week day? As an old wrinkly, are the denizens of the place likely to stand around and point at me and shout humorous comments about pensions and bus passes? Pete
  14. My best costume is when I got an easter bunny outfit, fitted it with big fangs and went as the killer rabbit from Monty Pythons Holy grail. I'll not mention my attempts at humour with Satan Claus (santa outfit, devil horns and a trident) Pete
  15. Ah, I remember when... Seeing the Dogs D'Amour last night brought it all back. I really enjoyed myself, wallowing in nostalgia. They played all the old faves plus some new ones that sounded like old faves. A pretty poor crowd, I think the bands brought more folk than actually paid at the door. The support was pretty good too. Pete
  16. me too! how sad is that! I prefer the beer/sex/drugs quiz. It always makes me sound more interesting and decadant' Pete
  17. I've just bought my ticket for the Dog's gig. I hold ticket number 8! I hope folk are paying on the night otherwise it's going to be a very small crowd and I won't be able to hide at the back like normal. Pete
  18. I am self centred and supprisingly unfriendly. But recently I must have been mellowing, because I can no longer fend off folk with a glare and a couple of one word answers. I'm going to add another complaint that I thought of while working this morning... 7. (I think) I hate being the oldest person at a gig. At the subways gig I was at least 15 years older than the average punter. (To qualify that, this tends to happen at gigs by "up and coming" bands. Last night at the undertones I fitted in nicely.) so if you see a wrinkly old skin head hiding in the dark at the back of the room at the next gig, that'll be me. Don't come over and say hello. (heheh) Pete
  19. Hi Just got back from the gig, how good were they? The support (giveamanakick or something like that) were pretty good, although the stuff they did at the start was definitely better than the songs they finished with. Lots of nice banter from the undertones and supprisingly they didn't leave teenage kicks as their encore. Most entertaining. Pete
