  1. Soooooperb. Glad to see the Tunnels taking a firm stance on manipulative shady pay-to-play stuff. I
  2. 100 Thoughts are playing too, I've talked to their bassist and they're going to pull out too hopefully. He's going to phone the Tunnels tomorrow.
  3. By not mentioning anything about paying money in advance. I've ended up with a heap of tickets (money which I presumed would just go to the venue, then divvied up to promo company) and a request for a 100 cheque. Fuck that, i've not signed anything so i'm gonna send them back.
  4. Cheers for the heads up on this, as i'm booked to play. I've messaged them about this.
  5. I hope this doesn't clash with prelims....superb.
  6. There should be a nomination for the badly named but sensational Tears of Grace. One of only a few local bands worth your time of day.
  7. Good stuff. Hopefully Prelims won't be on then so I can go.
  8. iForward Russia! were a brilliant and exciting band to watch, loved every minute of it. Missed the first band on, and thought the second were absolutely awful.
  9. Pissed off at the Rakes pulling out. Ended up selling my ticket because of it. At least they're coming back up though.

    Hard-Fi

The Automatic are definitely a band to look out for. Top notch. However, I thought Hard-Fi were utter shite. Didn't enjoy their set nor the atmosphere which at times did seem a bit hostile.
  11. "You all live in a weegie housing scheme......." Yellow submarine, la.
  12. Aye, fair enough. I'm listening to a City Ghosts song right now, it started sounding like China Crisis for a minute! I'd like to say now that the best band from Wakefield are The Cribs, followed by the Research
  13. Ahem. I've seen the Paddingtons 3 times now and I haven't seen such a band put so much energy into their music. Fair enough they may not be that tight a band but at least they can play their instruments with a degree of comptence (sid vicious, anyone?), and they have got good songs which are catchy. In my opinion they're one of the best new band sin Britain.
  14. Fair enough Dave. The supports were the Lorenzo Snow Collective and The Fratellis. Didn't think they were very good.
  15. I have songs to preview and stuff at www.myspace.com/sambeaton. If you're interested, drop me a line!
  16. Spot on, too much 'junkie scum' justifications for my liking. I don't know who you are, but saying that makes you a fucking cunt.
  17. And the point of linking back to this page was...
  18. I thought it was one of the best gigs i've seen at the Tunnels. Credit to the security guy there for being pretty relaxed about crowdsurfers and stuff, although he was pretty pissed off at the end! Nice change of venue as well - thought they played better at the Tunnels than their previous two Kef outings. Great gig!
  19. Hemmin, you know what I mean. Tell that to the people who didn't join in with our 'One Drew McConnell' songs at the start Ahem, Walden co-wrote The Man Who Came To Stay. Great song. Ergo - Walden = not a knob.
  20. Looking forward to this. There have been a lto of fine bands coming out of Leeds as of late and these guys are no exeption. See you all down the front
