  1. We have the Avs. They've been playing great. Not looking forward to this too much! At least we made it though!
  2. I hate this last minute playoff clinching bullshit. If we get 2 points from our last 4 games and Phoenix drop 1 point from their final 4 games then we guarantee 8th. Though we're 5 points up on the Stars too and I'd prefer to avoid St Louis by staying 7th.
  3. Fret work no, electronics yes. I think in my time there the only thing I didn't do was re-route a guitar for a sustainer setup as there wasn't nearly enough space. Otherwise it is all good
  4. I just picked up one of these: http://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/pedals_power_detail.asp?stock=10042314215432 Great piece of kit. Definitely recommended, albeit expensive.
  5. Best: Absolutist They do what they do as well as - or better than - anyone else I've seen attempt it. Largely predictable most of the time but the right vibe and very effective. Oli is a great, solid drummer. Callum and Shea do exactly what they need to. Probably my favourite band in Aberdeen just now. Bonesaw Classic death metal played ideally. Sid's lead parts are awesome, Andy's vocals are brutal and everything is always tight. Paul needs to up the volume as I can never hear him right but otherwise spot on. Their new album is great too. Death Watch I enjoy these guys a lot. This type of music is something I'm into a lot at the moment and they pull it off. Could probably do with less gigs in the short periods of time they take them on, and they (like us (Bisongrass)) need to write a little quicker haha. Deadloss Not much to say other than that they are one of the most enjoyable bands I've seen in Aberdeen. Consistently so as well. Korpse Not much to say - awesome paced metal with good groove. Great bass sound, great drumming, ace riffs. Very enjoyable gigs any time I've seen them. That's about it. BOAK Seen them once (first gig), totally into it. I don't like a huge amount of bands from here, but I definitely liked what I heard and look forward to more. Worst: I tend not to bother paying much attention to a band if I dislike them. Some I can't seem to get away from though. It is as simple as that I don't think they are very good at what they are trying to do. Even a band's attitude is enough for me to dislike them. I'm probably forgetting a lot of bands that I didn't rate, but the immediate ones that come to mind are: Matanuska SIDCA Miss Lucid There was one from Stonehaven that was an uncle and nephew type affair. They weren't very good. I can't remember the name.
  6. A bit late to the party, but I've started watching Breaking Bad. Still off work so I got Netflix and started on Breaking Bad yesterday evening. Just finished season 2 about 15 minutes ago. I wish that I started watching it sooner
  7. Undecided on finish, but I fancy an ESP Eclipse of sorts. I prefer the ESP necks to the multitude of Gibsons I've played (and owned) so will have to give one a bash. ALL THE OPTIONS (that is my 'shortlist').
  8. It has been out a while, but I'd easy fire you a Bisongrass disc for a review?
  9. You don't have to be subtle when it comes to sign language.
  10. Started on GTA5 last Monday night. Finished the story mode on Thursday morning. Was a little shorter than I expected, but still very good fun. First GTA I've played since Vice City. Not yet started on online yet. Picked up Gran Turismo 6 on Friday. Enjoying that a lot. Some of the races have been very frustrating, but I'm 100% gold so far. Hopefully keep that up without smashing something

    Weekend

Friday - Wishing I was managing to play at Filthpact's 2nd last gig, in Glasgow. GTA5 instead most likely. Saturday - Filthpact's last gig, at Downstairs. Sunday - Recovering from Filthpact's last gig. Probably watching Olympics.
  12. Going to be playing GTA5 as of this evening as I finally got it. I haven't played any GTA games since Vice City so I'm sure it'll be fun! I am signed off work for a good few weeks too. Joy.

    Weekend

Tonight - play guitar and chill out while broken. Tomorrow - as above. Sunday - probably the same again.

    Sochi 2014

The men's hockey final is on my birthday. Spot on. That is the main thing I'm interested in. I'm sure there are other bits that will be worth a watch too.
  15. I'm glad it doesn't look like that anymore Instead, under the cast, I have this bundle of joy:
  16. There are different degrees of 'relic' finish. Closet classics usually show small signs of hardware corrosion, maybe slight crazing to the finish, a couple of dings. They are still part of the 'relic' series, rather than being NOS. A guitar doesn't have to be completely battered to shit to be classed as 'reliced'. Learn up.
  17. In a different way of 'American-ising' football, I'd like an NHL style salary cap to be introduced to remove the 'money talks' swing that exists.
  18. Good thread. Metallica - ...And Justice For All Pantera - The Great Southern Trendkill Psyopus - Our Puzzling Encounters Considered
  19. My ankle is back together and I've just taken more painkillers so, in relation to the rest of the week so far, I feel pretty good.
  20. Sadly yep Adam. I have a pic of it which I could spoiler tag. Was pretty badly dislocated as well as broken on the outside and damaged ligaments on the inside. May also be a fracture on the inside too, but they can't tell until I get operated on (need pinned and plated). Not looking forward to it anyway! Ryan - I was running to the ball head on with someone else. Ball was at my right foot but the angle I was approaching was slightly to the left. I leaned to my right to poke the ball to the right but my momentum kept me going left over my left leg which had jammed into the ground. Made a few cracks on the way down so I didn't look at it at all until seeing the pics on FB after it had been relocated. I really wish I took the morphine! It's been sore as fuck! Took an hour for the ambulance to arrive and still waiting for surgery. At least it wasn't my hand/wrist though - I don't play guitar with my feet
