  1. I'm curious as to where these can be bought for £125 brand new to order when it costs a dealer more than that before any VAT or markup?
  2. Stroopy outside Snafu with his car. I was driving past the same way. Sure it was Saturday.

    Weekend

Yeah man I liked it! It was loud as hell too, which suited me just fine!

    Weekend

Friday - sorted some stuff out with the Supra and then went to Moorings for Death Watch & Headless Kross (was a good gig). Saturday - Hockey and then beer. Sunday - Had a (Bisongrass) gig down at Banshee Labyrinth in Edinburgh with Atragon, Roll On Three and Buried Sleeper (who were awesome). It was good fun and my first time playing Banshee Labyrinth.
  5. Also - BEST THREAD EVER. (JakeBassist - the answer to whether you should get involved with this thread is no)
  6. MINNESOTA FUCKING WILD! I'm frustrated as fuck about this season - had a ridiculous trip drafted up for the tail end of the regular season. Pish. I WANT TO WATCH HOCKEY NOW. Houston Aeros will have to do until something happens.
  7. He also shags dogs like a LAD cos he's DOBER MIN.
  8. It certainly did. As did Bisongrass' self titled, self released effort
  9. Jake, are you actually Teabags' AGFW?
  10. Dirtdrinker are awesome. Have they played a Fudge gig though? KCHGH are no more (just saying... most missed ahem). Bisongrass have an album out now (just saying...). ENOS were pretty good when I saw them as an out of town band. Headless Kross are awesome too.

    Weekend

Lynx Ice Arena down at the beach (the ice rink next to the ballroom). Saturday evenings (schedule dependent but normally every fortnight for a home game). Face off at 7/7.30 (I can't recall so let's say 7 as I won't miss anything in that case).

    Weekend

This weekend is going to only consist of food, booze, NHL 13, Aberdeen Lynx and sleep. GODLIKE.
  13. My setup is usually as follows: ESP Custom Shop KH-2 Neck Thru w/ Bare Knuckle Aftermaths > Peterson Strobostomp Tuner > Dunlop DCR-2SR Rack Wah > Digitech WH-4 Whammy > MXR KFK-1 10 Band EQ > Boss CE-5 Chorus Ensemble > MXR Smart Gate > Dunlop DVP1 Volume Pedal > Line 6 DL4 > ENGL E670 SE EL34 w/ JJ KT77s (poweramp) and Rubys (preamp) > ENGL Std 4x12 w/ V60 speakers. I've also got an ESP Hanneman S&Key Urban Camo (nice and rare) with EMG 81s that I sometimes swap the KH-2 out for. Also a Dean USA DFH 'Dean From Hell' with a Bill Lawrence L-500XL and Di Marzio Super Distortion. That is in E just now though and I have been gigging/practicing with the others (tuned to BEADF#B) so it hasn't seen much use of late.
  14. I had a Warpig that I sold for £50 a while back. Maybe I was just being nice with my pricing, but you could probably pick up one (*troll face*) for a similar price second hand if you looked around. Don't turn a Seymour Duncan Alternative 8 if offered for a good price, they are similar to the Invader but with presence & clarity. Don't mean to try and change your mind on them if that is the sound you're after, but I had an Invader for a while and it doesn't cut through in a mix and was a waste of time. In my opinion, of course.
  15. Haha wow ok. I used to work in R&B. The 'plug' comment was in reply to being told to go to ii music to test them out - consider it as me making even the awareness to users on here as to local availability. I know all about price matching and model offerings. However, this thread isn't for me to try and sell anything, it is about what I want to purchase. I'll reply in more detail (well, maybe ) tomorrow.
  16. Haha no worries. I n00bed slightly by saying 'bridge piece', the correct term is 'bridge saddle'. All good though As for the work, a needle file to open up the nut slots if required is easy to do, yet a neccesity if you are indeed going for a bigger gauge. Otherwise the strings won't seat properly at the nut and may cause cracking to the edge (usually find it to be the low E string at the outside edge) of the nut, causing a replacement to be required. Most guitars come with either 11-52 or 12-53/54 out of the factory. If you have bought 13-56, then best to open up the slots that little bit. If you pop down to R&B though, they'll keep you right.
  17. If the pickups have poles rather than blades then you'll notice that the spacing between them on the neck pickup is different to that of the bridge pickup. The internals can also be different like you suggest, yielding different output characteristics. Regarding Dime flipping his Bill Lawrence (& in latter days the Dimebucker), it would reposition the hotter blade, giving a different sound. I don't know how much of a difference there is with the 2 blades though. In saying that, I do have a Dime guitar with said BL pickup so I may try it and see if there is actually any noticeable change.
  18. As long as you put the nut ("the little white bit at the top of the neck that holds the strings fell off") and bridge piece (" little white bit down beside where the strings go in that fell off") back the correct way then it will pose no problem to restring as normal. If either of the pieces are actually broken then you'll have to purchase new ones. The nut can be a pain as it will need filed accordingly to allow for correct string height. The nut should be re-glued but the bridge piece just slots in. If you are struggling, PM me and I can advise further. Otherwise R&B will sort it no bother. Very easy fix though, especially if the bits are intact
  19. Having had the original Powerball (well, the v2, rather than the Powerball 2) in 2006 and then the E670 SE EL34 since 2007, I like the voicings of them more than alternatives. I've played a Gigmaster 30 (R&B stock them for better prices *PLUG*) and was happy enough with it. Thanks for the suggestions for other stuff, but I'm pretty set on something like the Gigmaster 30. It wouldn't just be for home use - I'd use it at practice and take along as a backup for gigs if anything happened with the SE. For home use, if it came to it, the SE has a Poweramp bypass. I could run it into my Focusrite Saffire Pro 24 and just listen back with some cans whilst being able to flick the record switch if needed. I don't get much time to practice at home anymore anyway with work so it'd all be purchasing just because. I haven't done that for a while though...
