  1. Only had it eight months and it's packed up. I thought it was the battery but looking at Apple's very confusing website it seems that it needs restoring and resetting, which apparently means I lose everything on it. Wonderful. Anyone else had probs like this with one: basically it won't charge up, and when you hold down the menu and select buttons as directed the Apple symbol appears and then the sumbol of the ipod with a sad face and an exclamation mark.
  2. Terrific, thanks for the responses. Keep 'em coming, need input from both sexes on this. Will let everyone know when I'm up and maybe a session round the table in the Moorings would be an idea?
  3. Hi all. After the success of the last play, I've been commissioned to write a second, and again will be setting it in my home city. It's largely going to be about teenagers, and I'm very keen to know what the experience of being a teenager in Aberdeen today is like compared to what it was when I was that age. So I'm wondering if anyone on here is happy to share their thoughts? Basically I'll be up in the city again probably next month, and if a gang or any individuals want to hook up somewhere with me and just chat freely, that would be great. It won't be twenty questions, just want to get your reflections on being a teenager here and now, is it as boring as it has been for most other generations, are Class As as easy to come by for the average teen as the papers suggest, do you feel constantly afraid of being judged or ridiculed by your mates or is your school/ social environment friendly and encouraging? Look forward to hearing from anyone, cheers! Free tickets to the play or free booze naturally provided.
  4. Back in the day when Frankensteins was Cocky Hunters every Friday was stovies night and they handed out free 'eens to everyone at around half six. It was magic!
  5. Can't argue with that! Was meant to be back next week but so busy down here since the play... but soon!
  6. I can't bear it, camp toss!
  7. Toni and Guy are worth treating yourself to, the assistants are glam and you get free coffee. Not cheap though but they have style books and consultations...
  8. Fucking priceless...the Aberdeen woman was a dead giveaway!
  9. Well that was the play! Was a good Aberdeen presence quite frequently in the theatre: you could always tell when they were in as there were laughs as soon as the mad heather lady or Charlie's got mentioned! Anne Begg mentioned the play in Parliament after seeing it as part of her plea for more commitment to the arts in Aberdeen. So far no word on whether the play will get an airing in its native city but it is likely to surface again in some shape or form. Meantime for those who missed it the script is in the shops now. Thanks to everyone who made it down! xx
  10. A Heart in Winter is a fabulous Frrench film. L'Apartement, The DOuble Life of Veronique are two other gems. I'd also say A Short Film about Love and A Short Film About Killing, and the unbelieveably shocking Funny Games
  11. Just a quick reminder: the play closes on Saturday. It has sold out all the way now but anyone who was planning on coming in the last week and hasn't sorted a ticket out, it's worth trying for returns... Cloud et al, are you still coming on the 3rd?
  12. Have you still got that article by any chance? Enjoy the story?
  13. Yes that was the first one I posted...since then had great ones in The Observer, Sunday Express and various others. Only a couple of bad ones...
  14. My God, I bought one and it was gone so fast I forgot to enjoy it. Possibly the best invention since pornography.
  15. All very well said. Thing is, the police are the last people who should be making jokes about suicide bombers when they are the ones who also have to inform the families of the dead. It's surely that simple.
  16. I once got a blow job on a Sunday evening in that enclosed garden in Victoria Park and a family walked past during it, parents, then children then grandparents, two by two like Noah's Ark. I didn't have the self-control to tap my girlfriend on the head and let her know.
  17. And another one here: http://www.thestage.co.uk/reviews/review.php/12272/rainbow-kiss
  18. Thank you! Richard W is on This Morning in a mo and on Davina on BBC1 tonight discussing it too!
  19. Little update everyone: the reviews are starting to appear now...So far so good! http://arts.guardian.co.uk/critic/review/0,,1752214,00.html http://entertainment.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,14936-2129066,00.html
  20. Hey all, We've now opened and it's going great. Just for anyone interested, the script is now out, published by Oberon, and should be in a few Aberdeen bookshops, and also at Amazon and http://www.oberonbooks.com Cheers! Simon xx
  21. Scatterburn? I have a BBC documentary from 1972 filmed in Aberdeen, and its extraordinary to see some of the differences there: Old Torry before it was flattened for instance!
  22. Brilliant, thanks very much. It's just for parties and things, just keep buying disposables and they are constantly letting me down!
  23. Help! I need to buy one as soon as possible, ion fact today, as I want to take lots of photies tonight! I haven't got a clue about them, can anyone offer any help? Don't want something ridiculously expensive, simply one that takes nice pictures!
