  1. Pearl Jam - No Code Faith No More - King For A Day........
  2. Probably going to head for the KC/Adem, Magnetophone and Arab Strap gigs. Will miss Tunng as I'll be at Jose Gonzalez. Looking forward to this.
  3. Can't say I agree with that at all. The fifty or so folk got plenty space to move about, but very little atmosphere. The band had very little to bounce off, compared to a packed show the night before, where it was visibly apparent that the band thrived off the vibe from the audience. I'd much rather go to a packed out show in a smaller venue, than a practically empty one in a larger venue. I would imagine most folk playing in bands would feel that way too. (or am I wrong?)
  4. Enjoyed the gig again. Missed mammal totally (no bad thing) and felt a bit bad for Pip. He must have felt a bit lonely up there. I feel the Aliens were better in Edinburgh to be honest, maybe it was a hometown thing. A lot more things went wrong last night. Still thoroughly enjoyed it though. 'Only Waiting' was superb. I'd like to see them again in a year's time when they've pulled it together a bit more. Similar to the post above, I left pretty unimpressed with the venue, or maybe choice of venue. Could this have not been moved to somewhere more suitable like The Tunnels (I know there was another gig there, but how long has this one been announced?) There seemed numerous sound problems and it seemed to affect the band as well.
  5. If anyone is desperate to see them, I think they're playing a free gig on Thursday night in Dundee. For students only, so you'd need a valid matric card (for any uni).
  6. ps - Doors last night were 7.30 and Mammal were on at 8.20, if that's anything to go by.
  7. Went to the Edinburgh show last night and it was ferkin ace. Mammal (or whatever they're called) weren't really my thing. Too much bleeping. Pip Dylan was his usual amazing self. New stuff sounding great live. Superb entertainer. The Aliens were wonderfully shambolic, kind of like a psychedelic version of the Beta Band. Gordon kept it together despite a number of stop-starts and feedback problems. Can't wait to do this again tonight.
  8. Ahhhhh M.C. - The Wyclef Jean of Aberdeen. I shared a flat with him at Woolmanhill back in the day. Some cookie. 3rd March? I'll either come along to this or go to Stellastarr in Dundee. Undecided.
  9. Nice. Thursday you say? Man, I'm gonna be skint this month with all these gigs comin up.
  10. I nipped to the shop earlier and there were forensics and ahin there. Four cop cars, couple of vans, and I couldn't work out if it was a detective or reporter interviewing a witness. What a nosey c*nt I am.
  11. Bryan from Divine Comedy / The Kittens is no longer in the band. I think it's just John & Robin from the Beta Band, Lone Pigeon and various live contributors. Going down to the Venue gig in Edinburgh as well as this een.
  12. Sounds like something I'd be up for. I've got a couple of Things In Herds tracks, so looking forward to it.
  13. Hmmm, not really my place to announce details. PM incoming.
  14. hehe (nae bother). I saw JG at Lemon Tree last year anyway and was speaking to KC on Friday night up in Inverness. He's a nice chap. I'll catch Tunng eventually.
  15. Tickets purchased. Should be good. I take it this is part of Triptych? I see Tunng are due at Tunnels the same night. Tough call as I wanted to check out them as well. There better not be any more clashes as I know there will be another Fence related event at the Lemon Tree.
  16. Yeah yeah yeah I like the new song as well.
  17. Why the big surprise? I told you way back on Page 1 of this thread. One out of two ain't bad.
  18. http://www.theraconteurs.com/ This is the new Jack White / Brendan Benson thing - some tunes posted up. Sounds alright. Loving the retro website. 8)
  19. Tonight? It's Thursday right? I was at the Stereo gig where they first played as a four-piece as my mate is drumming. Sounded pretty good, although I do like them on their own as well.
