Very sore today......... Saturday - Alabama 3, Audioslave, Futureheads, Brendan Benson, Super Furries (My highlight of the whole weekend) Sunday - Eagles of Death Metal, Sons & Daughters, Snoop, Bright Eyes, Malcolm Middleton, Interpol, wee bit of Green Day, Prodigy. Would have liked to have seen Pete Townshend's little cameo with his bird as well.

Still buy it, mostly just for gig listings and announcements though.

I'm pretty disappointed reading this thread, especially if the organisers are talking about losing 10 grand on a charity gig. As part of a research project I'm doing on charity music events, Stuart has kindly agreed to be interviewed by me, so I'm very much looking forward to hear the outcome of this. I'll probably be constructing an online questionnaire at some stage over the next couple of months, and will link to it here if anyone is interested enough to take part.

Yeah I know its out of print, that's why I'm so intrigued. I'm pretty sure there was a CD release at some point, they sometimes pop up on ebay at ridiculous prices.

Regarding the comments about this show not selling well in Aberdeen, would the fact that the main headliners are playing in Aberdeen the next night not have something to do with it? Just a thought.

Oh yeah, I agree. Everyone comes out looking good. It IS a PR exercise after all. (Not just for the cause, but for the artists also.) The point I was trying to make is that it's not about putting on a musically great gig, it's about attracting artists with the biggest fan base over the widest demographic base in order to create maximum awareness. Even if the G8 do not change anything at least awareness has risen, pressure been lobbyed etc.... and that will be deemed a success.
