  1. Long time since I've been on this forum. Anyway, I thought I'd share some of my recent music here. Here are three tracks from my upcoming concept album inspired by Frank Herbert's "Dune". As its instrumental, the connection with Dune might seem a little vague to some people. The music just came to me while I was binge reading the book and rewatching Jodorowsky's Dune. Track one: "Celestial Vagabond" Track two: "arrival on Arrakis". The year is 10,191. House Atreides, on the Emperor's orders, arrive at their destination, the planet of Arrakis - home to the Fremen, the spice melange, and Shai-Hulud. Track three: "dance of the fremen". Moving swiftly, stepping lightly, and with an irregular motion of their feet, the Fremen would avoid detection of the Sandworms. The arrhythmic dance, contrasting with their distant Thumper-decoy, was the only means of safe passage across the sands of Dune. There's varied influences here though Tangerine Dream have obviously inspired a lot of what I've done here. I hope you're able to listen and enjoy the music and there will be more to follow as I aim to have the album completed nearing the end of the year. Please let me know your thoughts. Thank you, Rory
  2. Since I discovered them, Popol Vuh have been at the top of my Krautrock playlist. The stuff that was used in Werner Herzog's films is particularly good. "Herz aus Glas" and the Nosferatu album stand out in particular. There is plenty of more ambient stuff happening in other albums as well. Worth a listen if you are not already familiar. Here is one recommendation, but there are really too many to mention.
  3. Cheers for the help guys, got it up and running. Milner, you were right about the database files. Is this Steve? Haven't posted on here in a long, long time so I don't recognise your username... If so, I think we have drunkenly discussed this before : )
  4. Hi there. I'm about to do a "restore to factory" settings on my laptop, and could use some advice. I want to keep my fm2012 game going, and I know how to transfer the current save. What I don't knnow is how to transfer the custom database I used for that save, or where it is located. I need to know this in order to have my old game work after I restore my laptop. Any advice? Where about can I find the database I need? Im using vista if that helps. Any help is appreciated : )
  5. Caribou is also a band that are very similar to the sound you are seeking, though I'm only familiar with their album titled "Andorra."
  6. Hahaha, cheers Alan. We do have flute again though! Yeah we might be considered psychedelic/prog. The Snake Temple Kings on Myspace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads . Floyd/Hawkwind/Hillage fans would dig, I'm sure. I'd agree with the shouts for Amon Duul II and Faust. Popol Vuh is the band I'm listening to at the moment. Lots of atmospheric and instrumental music, largely meant for film scores. They worked with Werner Herzog a lot in the 70s. Nosferatu remake being one of their highlights for film scores. If you like the ethnic/raga side to this kind of music, then give them a listen.

  8. "Love thy neighbour, I don't half fancy her too." Gets me every time.
  9. Derek and Clive got there first!
  10. Cheers guys. We had a an awesome time playing. Progadellica were great! The mixes on the CD are final, by the way. We're going to stick with the same masters as well. We're running low, so if you haven't already got a copy, you might want to pick one up. The tune you're thinking of is called, "The Revenge of the Trophy Wives"
