  1. Just watched - one of the worst films I've ever seen! Curiosity will get the better of you sometime and you'll want to see it - just don't pay for the "privilege." The vast majority of the bits you think are sick are mere suggestion and the bandages are all strategically placed. The doctor is the only saving grace as far as I'm concerned - he is pretty deranged. It falls on it's arse after about 10 minutes and just keeps getting worse. Honestly, you will not believe the empty feeling you get inside watching it and will laugh at how shittily it all pans out. For sure the worst acting I've seen in a long time - and that's just the girls - wait till you see the "cops."
  2. Marsh "Dweller"?? Fuckin' hell, Jake's back in play, as Roy Walker would say!!! Or perhaps not.....
  3. Fully, but it may be a part of a bigger thing. I'm sure it's out of respect, though, you're right. They were all very respectful in the conference where you think they might have been angry. Like I said, Corey was very respectful, dignified and, in particular, kind and supporting to his brother. Corey's a top man.
  4. ^This^ Obviously they have gone unmasked individually before but never as Slipknot the band. Like I was saying, I don't think anyone's ever seen Craig unmasked before. He rarely ever even speaks. I think they'll split, but then again, I thought Rancid (another "we're brothers" band) would after Brett left and they replaced him. Interesting that an "auxiliary" member of the 'Knot, in Chris, is currently moonlighting on bass for Will Haven, though........ Whichever way you look at it, it's just a fucking tragedy that a kid ain't ever gonna see their Dad. Really sad.
  5. Fat Clown Paul Gray and soon after Joey Jordison Were the originals. Technically, It leaves them with only the one original member, although Jordison has recorded every single note with Slipknot.
  6. They always said the band would finish if they ever de - masked so I'm wondering if this has signalled the end of the 'Knot.
  7. No masks. Key points: Corey was very articulate and level headed. Clown was thoughtful and looks like a bigger Kevin Smith That's the first time I (or almost anyone) have seen #5. He has a beyond impressive beard and shook his head when asked if he had anything to say. Mick is one scary motherfucker. He and Jim didn't speak at all Sid is different than what you'd think. A fairly normal if scrawny and heavily tattooed guy, in all honesty. #3 is just a completely regular guy. Joey seemed most upset and could hardly speak. His (real, blood) brother was very dignified. So was his wife. I found the whole thing a bit surreal. RIP #2.
  8. Frank Turner - Long Live The Queen.
  9. Just go easy on the shop soiled chocolate oranges........
  10. Wow, Biffy Clyro really are one of the biggest sufferes of "they were good back in the day" aren't they? Every single person that speaks to me about them saw them in a small venue / pub / broom cupboard / their back garden years ago and think their new stuff is terrible. I've always thought they were shite!
  11. Who was it that said nearer the start that they'd be unavailable because they would be.......... MANNING THE BARBECUE AT THE SUTTERSPPED GIG! That was another hysteria - inducer!
  12. It still raises a smile but in the context of the blizzard of activity that was the first few pages of the Shutterspeed thread it was an utter gem. It encapsulated the feverent posting over the space of a day or two. I still get the feeling that this is the only thread on a forum I've ever seen that deserves it's own "review" - "Shutterspeed are so good that I just punched my Dad" is the obvious choice for a title. Or a t - shirt slogan. Or first album name. Or review in NME. All bases - covered! I keep thinking back to the posts about halfway through this whole charade with folk asking what it was all about. You cannae do it justice without reading every. single. post.!!!!
  13. I yearn for the day a few weeks ago when this whole thread kicked off. This doesn't seem quite as funny now, but at the time I was in fucking hysterics.
  14. Ha ha! I was just thinking exactly the same thing!!
  15. I remember a book in my folk's house from the early / mid nineties (I'm sure it had the Evening Express logo on the front) with a yellow cover called "Grit, Growth and Sometimes Groovy" that covered music in Aberdeen from the 50's onwards. Might be worth checking out, although it might be garbage! I remember absolutely nothing about it, other than it had loads of old pictures of the Beach Ballroom! Surely Tommy Dene fae Aiberdeen was in a few "beat combos" back in the day!!!!!
  16. Pretty amusing list. The Nuge raises some good points, although I think his pro - arms stance is ridiculous. Johnny Ramones political stance was a pain in the arse for the other Ramones, proving you shouldn't be in a band with folk who have radically different views to your own. One of my fave latter Ramones songs has a silly title because of Johnny's Conservative sensititivity. Pretty laughable that Ian Curtis's tactical vote in one elction ranks him no. 10 in the "right wing rockers." The Spice Girls views are summed up best by Avid merrion - I think a similar amount of thought went into that Thatcher comment. Tony Hadley is satan in a musical form. Who cares what he thinks about anything? Eric Claptout proves that people have short memories and the "I was drunk - I didn't mean it" saying goes beyond normal punters. I hope he feels really bad every time Rock against racism is mentioned.
  17. Fair dinkum. I enjoyed it a lot. I'll re - phrase what I said then - worth checking out at least if you're a fan of SHH? It lays the groundwork for Lilleys sense of humour.
  18. It's awesome. Jonas Dad is utterly brilliant too with his deadpan delivery. I can also highly recommend We Can Be Heroes by Chris Lilley, featuring Ja'mie and some other suitably inept and hilarious characters. If you like SHH you're bound to enjoy this.
  19. I have the ability to scan up to A3 size - Is this sufficent? If so I could scan in each of the 1,000 photos. I can scan them at a high resolution and number them in a logcal way or however you see fit. I can save them to a DVD ready to print. I would treat them with the upmost care. I could turn it around in a few weeks. I can guarantee you the highest standard of scan and would even do some minor colour correction. PM me if you're interested and we can talk about money - as a ball park we're talking in the realms of a few hundred as opposed to a few quid here! Or there is the option of going online and trying one of the places as mentioned above! Your choice!
  20. Bri, http://www.aberdeen-music.com/forums/dizzy-storm/16160-assert.html Just a wee misunderstanding, ken!! Looking back, I cannae believe it was 6 years ago since they were last here. 6 bloody years - argh!!! This gig will be bordering on nostalgia!
  21. When did the Dangerfields and Assert kiss and make up????!!!! Looking forward to this already.
  22. Rhydian from the X Factor doing Vienna by Ultravox.
  23. Shady Adie!!! Antique brilliance! Far's the Buddah Crush reviews?!
  24. Howard & Hills. Never eaten in the dump and never would!! It's the "cuisine" equivalent of Chicago Rock Cafe. Eljo's - La Tasca. I've had traditional tapas at a wedding in Barcelona and it almost made my cock come to the boil they were so fine. La Tasca's just ain't real tapas, but if you can get over that it's alright for a bite. I will be participating in the 50% offer through spending 3 quid on 4 San Migs! It'll do the job for some scran when we're in town one night this year I'm sure!!
