  1. Phonefreak. Maple. Psychedelic Jim's old band who used to play in old Drakes all the time and were amazing. 48K. The Leap (Including Aberdeen's very own Mr. Mod: Miles "Sweeny bloke" on bass) get an honourable mention along with Lift when they first started and Aberdeen's first and only "Nu - metal band" Red By Choice, if only for their seminal gig at T.K.'s
  2. Mad. I'm sure the cash injection will be positive in the long run. On a completely different note, I wonder if this means Universal Studios will have to get rid of the Hulk Coaster and all the Marvel gubbins at Islands of Adventure? There's a fair old amount of stuff. Spidey 3 - D is possibly the greatest rollercoasterey thing ever.
  3. Imagine he mowed down someone's sister on his drunken driving voyage to his sister's grave? He's a fucking idiot and should have the book thrown at him. Take off that Fat Hippy t - Shirt, junior, I say. Freedom of info to find out someone's address - anyone could find out his address so it's nae great shakes printing it.
  4. So are his ripped scuds.....

    Jason Lee

I downloaded it about 6 months ago and have watched it about 100 times just to remember all the brilliant quotes! It really is one of my favourite films. It encapsulates all my feelings towards religion. In an ironic twist, it's become a "bible" of sorts for me...................

Certainly has. I hope anyone who thinks Scientology is mad isn't religious themselves? It's common for folk to laugh at Scientologists who beleive in the Galactic Confederancy and E - meters but cool to believe in virgin births, second comings and talking snakes? ALL religion is mad - Scientology is no different from any other one. Everyone needs to see the film "Religulous" by Bill Maher!
  7. Fuck yeah! that's my new favourite site! For anyone with a spare hour "The Road to Nowhere" one is an absolute gem. The Dead Parrot one is the obvious one and is also beyond funny. The guy who runs the site seems to spend longer than the scammers, but it makes for bloody hilarious results!
  8. No it's nae! It's still open at weekends when someone can work there. Don't bank on it being open on a given night, though..... Cummy the owner has been ill for years now and now hasn't left the house for 3 years. I was hearing from my mate he's the size of Jabba and an utter disgrace.
  9. That's weird - my Sky+ is series linked to record Match of the Day every Saturday night and it skipped the Sportscene highlights and recorded MOTD when it was on at 12:40am. Nae luck, min
  10. I've gone back to utorrent. Couldn't figure out Vuze - far, far too complicated and I was getting sick of "HD content" being shoved down my throat. There's far too much going on and I hate programs that try and make you do what it wants you to do or when you have to look at certain things when it boots up. The fact it has to boot up is annoying enough in iteslef. utorrent comes up instantly with a list of the files in a torrent - you click what you want and it's away It's also a far lighter application and therefore better in my book. Also, haven't seen a slight change of speed between the two apps using optomised settings. I had a right good trawl round the web and tried a few different settings combonations and used what I reckoned best for each app. Doesnae seem to make any kind of difference.
  11. Okay, i've just downloaded this too for a shottie - seems really good but how can i specify which files I want to download from a torrent? In utorrent it comes up with a window showing the files within the torrent and you could specify what you wanted to download. Can you tell me if you can do this as it's an essential feature for me. Cheers.
  12. Where does that leave all the women from Peterhead? Car crash victims?!
  13. One of my faves along with the Beatles and Dire Straits for the sole fact my old man used to listen to them all the time and it's been drilled into me from birth! My Dad still listens to their records. Some of them have fantastic artwork! Produced by Steve and Muff Winwood as well, no less. "The Pie" is my all time favourite Sutherland Bros. song. World in Action, Champion the Underdog, Dream Kid. Ahh, so many great songs. Arms of Mary is indeed a classic too. Always a favourite telling the uninitiated that the "real" version of Sailing is actually a short song written by a guy from Peterhead which actually has some meaning behind it and isn't just an excuse to wave your arms like "Rod the Mod." At least Gavin S. made a fortune off the back of it, I suppose Harmony wise they are up with with Lennon / McCartney and the Everly Brothers in my book. That good. I get all nostalgic when I listen to them and think of long car journeys singing the songs with my sister. Off to listen to "Lifeboat"..........
  14. ........who was absolulely fuckin awesome in developmental as The Freakin' Deacon and latterly the "fake Kane" for a few weeks. Really good big wrestler who can go but, alas, told to act as a retard by the powers that be. His tag partner is the son of a fabulous Freebird as well - turning him into a backwards hick is just as ridiculous. Another amaing example of WWE burying great talent. Also see the brilliant Colt Cabana being repackaged as "Scotty Goldman", Paul Burchill losing his ace "Ripper" gimmick, CM Punk being the worst Champ of all time and William Regal not being used again.
  15. Why did it take 26 years for there to be a day of recognition? Should have been every year from 19th February 1981! Love how the article beings "An Angus town"!!! Would love to go but I'm up north this holiday weekend. And I don't own a leather jacket / mullet.....
  16. On the contrary, it's been fucking ace lately - that's why 'Mania was such a disappointment. If the build up had been cack since last May there would have been zero expectation, but the fact there have been so many red hot feuds / storytelling / matches lately just made it oh so agonisingly bad. It's like everything else in life though, isn't it - nothing's "as good as it used to be" in most peoples books. Or some folk just enjoy bashing what others enjoy. I'm in a happy place in my life where I can look back at the good old days of wrastlin and say some of it was better back in the day but they just physically couldn't do what they can do nowadays. It's still just a physical soap opera at heart, though. And, for me, a very enjoyable "leave your brain at the door" one.
  17. As shown in explicit detail when the scripts to Raw were leaked a month ago - it certainly is a rehearsed, very scripted soap opera nowadays written by retearded scriptwriters, one of whom happens to be a racist muthafucker. Simple way to avoid getting expasterated by it - don't stop to watch it when you're flicking. It's on a sports channel as it's "sports entertainment." the "other brand" is on Bravo but I've heard folk moan about it being on that too, so you cannae win.
  18. Regardless of who was at fault it was it looked completely shite!
  19. Worst 'Mania I've seen. It was an utter atrocity. Glad some of you are interested - I started writing about it but it turned into a brief "review": I was really looking forward to the unification tag match, which I've read was very good but it was just a joke that it was pulled. If I'd paid for the show I'd be wanting my money back. They'd built this match up so well week after week on ECW and Smackdown, even getting the guys valets in the process, splitting the twins up etc. A great feud - I'd been enjoying it very much and the wrestling has been great between these 4 - in fact some of the best i've seen in ages in terms of tag matches, so to pull it is just unforgiveable. Particularly when 10 + minutes of Kid Rock infects the show in lieu. Money in the Bank was just a few spots and a massive fuck up from Shelton. It was embarassing for him when he just had to powerbomb MVP out of the ring. Why do they change the name of the Unprettier to the "Killswitch" only for the 3 commentators to call it the Unprettier again? You really wonder why they bother. Kofi must be maimed after World's Strongest Slam to the ladder. Punk winning again was sour. The Divas "match" was abominable beyond belief - Santio has lost all the humour he's built up over the past few months. The fact they never let on he was there was beyond awful. The fact this car crash began before the camera was off Kid Rock sums it up for me. Snuka and Piper should be taken out the back and shot like Old Yeller to put the two out of their miseries. Snuka in particular shouldn't even be allowed out. Piper's "dropkick" was the worst thing I've seen in a ring. Ever. I get the feeling Jericho and Steamboat could have put together a fair match together given time, but it was not to be. It was agonising waiting for Rourke to come in and deliever the inevitable "knockout blow" - did he really have to take 10 minutes to do it? So lame. Hardy v Hardy was a letdown. Nothing special. Matt in tights is hilarious. Good evil finisher onto the chair, though. JR's comments were laughably crap. Did anyone else feel JR was off the ball most of the show? Anyway, not what most probably had in mind for a Team Extreme extreme rules match. JBL v Mysterio was another waste of fucking time. Just why? And why was Rey dressed like the bloody Joker? To symbloise this joke of a wrestling match? You could tell the story was booked 3 weeks ago. Bye bye JBL. HBK v Taker was good but I got pissed off with the amount of chops HBK was using as constant fucking offence. It was just chop, chop, chop. The only thing that made it "big time" was the kickouts to the finishers. For me anyway, it was a good match, but not THE GREATEST EVER like I've been reading. The triple threat was okay - nothing special. Could see Cena winning it weeks ago so no surprises. Certainly not a 'Mania level match, though. RKO v HHH was a big let down - for the showpiece of the event it was just flat. "Spoiler" finishes always piss me off but for this, the big one? Just a big let down. Glad to see they emphasied how unworthy the other HOF inductees were by letting them all look like idiots while Stone Cold paraded about on a quad scoofing beer. Granted, he's the biggest draw of all time, but just have him out on his own and not leave other, better wrestlers like the Funks and Steamboat standing there like complete dicks watching him take the spotlight. It would have been better if the others came out first and had their moment, left, then Stone Cold came out. The segment in the ring went on too long for my liking as well. It was getting a bit laboured. All in all, a major disappointment. Glad I resisted the temptation to part with 15 hard earned bucks in the end!!
  20. Great, so I'm the exception to the rule now - I feel almost as alienated as I did when I first discovered them in 1994
  21. Straight from the top: The decision has been defered for 6 weeks while the proposals from the private consortium are looked over. These proposals intend to "turn it into a global attraction" Councillors decided that the matter should be deferred for six weeks to allow for further negotiation, scrutiny and analysis. A final decision will be made after this time. So now you know.
