  1. This forum here is rather good: Studio-Central Community • Index page Some good answers to commonly asked questions. The B1 is a good mic, I use it to room mic drums(I probably said that already). Can't go wrong with it
  2. for a cheap all round LDC, get a Studio Projects B1, it can handle drums, guitar amps, vocals etc. It's under 100, but it's rather good for the pennies. It'd be a better investment than the T.Bone mics for sure!
  3. A new guitar, possible an LTD EC-1000 or a Schecter with EMG's. Wouldn't mind another amp, possibly a JCM900(I'm one of the few people who actually like these amps) Gonna get my AC30 up and running ASAP. A Rat or a Box Of Rock for my AC30. Some mics, an FMR RNP, some decent XLR's... I need another job
  4. A DSL50 can be had for around 300... well worth it
  5. Not at all Well done... Some Marshalls are fizzy, definitely not meaty though. You used a DS-1? I thought that thing was horrible Writing about tone... perhaps we should close this thread
  6. I said that on the first page... a new amp is probably the best way tbh. I've had two Rats in my time, my housemate has a Rat... I've never EVER heard anyone call it a fizzy pedal, I'd never played it and thought it sounded fizzy. Perhaps your Rat is out of spec... you do realise that the filter control works in the opposite direction than most tone controls, ie; it adds bottom when you turn the filter clockwise.
  7. I need my bass player to buy this.
  8. Well, I only read your original post... you never posted a price range, which makes it almost impossible for anyone to help you, the person before me also priced something out of your range. But srsly, a tube amp. You'll never get that big fat rhythm tone that you hear on records from a pedal, especially if you're not using a good amp
  9. I might take that Behringer off of you if you've still got it after xmas? Would be handy for live recording of my band. I've got a Motu 8 pre already and can plug the Behringer into it for 16 channels. I'l give you a shout if it's still with you
  10. Jesus... some clear out. Maybe next year
  11. I'm using: Motu 8 Pre Cubase SX3 with a Dell Laptop Yamaha HS50M Monitors Sony MDR Headphpones (can't remember the model number, but they weren't cheap) Shure SM57 Studio Projects B1 Condenser AKG D112 AKG C1000's I need more mics... could do with another SM57 and a couple of Tom Mics. I'd like one of those vocal booth things that SE Electronics do (there's a cheaper model on the market) and perhaps a Really Nice Preamp.
  12. A what? What the... um, no...
  13. I just managed to get a JCM800 4x12 for 100... nice The one on the left..

    Vox AC30

I finally started work on the amp... I ended up only paying 130 for it. I've looked at it over and over. Seems like a 1965 model. I've got the grill cloth coming tomorrow(my mate had it in his loft), I've got feet, corners, speaker scrim(it goes behind the grill cloth), white piping, a fuse holder, a rotary switch for the vib/trem unit and I'm bidding on handles for it. Still planning Greenbacks for it. Got my eye on a pair just now. I'll update with pics when there's actually something to report
  15. What browser are you using? For some reason internet explorer hates our layout...
  16. Lol.. MySpace.com - Astronot - UK - Rock - www.myspace.com/astronotmusic
  17. Just finished recording a couple of home demos with the band. The songs are "Four Point Zero" and "Let Go" Have a listen, cheers
  18. Caparison are supposed to be very nice... that should be a good addition to your arsenal!
  19. That doesn't look like a proper Marshall Cab
  20. Any pics? Quite interested...
  21. Clearly, you're continuing to be a prick. You know, everytime I read a post of yours, it irks me to the highest degree. It's like you go out of your way to be obtuse. This is actually a decent thread in which people can share what gear they use etc, and you come in and act like an arse. Why? What's the point? Did someone shit in your cornflakes this morning and every previous morning? You know, it wouldn't hurt you to stop acting like a dick once in a while... people might read your posts with a bit of gratitude instead of seeing the name and automatically thinking "uh oh..." But if you wanna keep being a dick... then carry on. Just do it elsewhere. The Musicians Corner seems to be one of the cooler forums on the board. You obviously being the exception to the rule.
