  1. Ah I forgot to mention that at the Q&A, Smith said that he wanted to make a Clerks animated movie. Hopefully that will surface soon as I'm a huge fan of the short lived cartoon series. (Actually, that's how I got into Clerks and Kevin Smith movies).
  2. I saw this at the Edinburgh Film Festival (Kevin Smith provided an introduction and a massive 40min Q&A afterwards). Absolutely hilarious and in my opinion, better than the first. Smith is a comic genius - his Q&A was like a stand up act.
  3. Looks ace: http://www.apple.com/trailers/disney/ratatouille/ I've no problems with any of Pixar's titles. Each one has been awesome.
  4. Thought it was mediocre at best... but it was worth watching for the extra scene after the credits.
  5. UK R2 vs JP R2 Comparison So I'd get the UK R2, as it'll be cheaper and differences between A/V quality are negligable. Not sure which offers the best subs though but the JP disc makes the Vinnie Jones scenes a bit easier to follow...
  6. Good news for you Paulscoconutass. Found out that Manga Entertainment will be handling the UK release in May 15th (although that date is subject to change). The Japanese DVD is a lovely two disc special edition. I hope the supplements make it on the UK DVD. Artwork can be seen here: http://www.dvdactive.com/news/releases/survive-style-5.html
  7. Aye what a class film and I was really surprised to see Vinnie Jones. Guess he's pretty famous over there. By the way, unlike most people, I find Jones to be a fantastic entertainer. He did a great job in this movie. The film's really abstract, but at the same time really funny. Great use of colours and music. The DVD can be imported from Japan for around 30-40. Here's a picture of Vinnie getting ready for a fight in the sauna: Also here's another image from the film:
  8. May 30th?! WTF. I didn't know this and went along on March 6th.
  9. I'm really jealous that you're going. I'm trying to plan something for late this year but I'm probably the laziest person ever... so we'll see how it goes. Anyway I've been told it's cheaper and more convinent to rent an apartment for two weeks. You'll avoid the extorsionate prices of a hotel or ryokan, yet still live in comfort. This is a popular choice for travellers. When you going? You gonna check out the Ghibli musuem?
  10. Cheers all. I was well impressed with the primary school and the behaviour of the kids. They were all so polite and well disciplined. The Pitmedden area looks gorgeous, wouldn't mind moving there once I earn enough money. I had to participate in the K'nex challenge which is to promote engineering to young kids. The challenge was to make windmills and I had to judge the best one (which I hated as the poor little kids put so much effort into their models). Some were really imaginative. Anyway I look forward to the challenge next year; might ask to go back to Pitmedden.
  11. I'm traveling from Bridge of Don, along the B999? Edit: it's ok I've googled it. Thanks very much for your quick and efficient reponse.
  12. Cheers reject. So the school is pretty easy to find?
  13. As per title really... Cos someone told me that Petmedden is an area north of Aberdeen... so there may be a primary school there? However looking at the map, there's also a series of Pitmedden streets near Garthdee... and the map shows a school there (but no name). Can anyone help me out please? Thanks kindly.
  14. My favourite video game turned movie is Mortal Kombat. "Choose your destiny..."
  15. Aye that thing about Japanese being interested in blood type is so true. They see it as a way of judging what type of personality you have... kind of like horoscopes. And yes they are adorable.
  16. Alright, sent you a pm as I want to say hi (and only to say hi).
  17. Probably not man. Even if they were made, judging by UK prices it would still cost you a small fortune for the entire collection. In order for them to be printed legally, the publishers would need to know that there is enough demand. Sadly, it's just the odd fanboy (like us) who are interested... not enough to warrant a UK publishing deal. It costs them a lot of money for the translation as well. I'm afraid your only option is to either learn Japanese or search for the scans. I don't want to break any rules of this forum so I can't really say anymore. Even if I could, I wouldn't know where these scans were kept anyway. Sorry for the bad news but good luck man. Trust me, I understand your frustration in this matter.
  18. Nope it's not been translated to English. Not officially. Your best luck is being a naughty boy and downloading a scan that has been fan-translated. I have read part of the Manga and it is every bit as twisted as the excellent movie. PS: I'm not a comic book nerd btw. It's just a coincidence that I know about this Manga/movie. Love Takashi Miike.
  19. Just a wee heads up for those wanting to hit the online sales. Amazon Jersey (not Amazon.co.uk) are selling the season boxsets at a nice discount. Friends Complete Season 6 - £7.99 Friends Complete Season 7 - £11.99 Friends Complete Season 8 - £7.99 Friends Complete Season 9 - £7.99 Friends Complete Season 10 - £8.99 Now remember to click on the link for Amazon Jersey (located below where you would normally click and the price is slightly higher). Delivery is free to the UK. Don't worry about customs as they ship the items individually. I'm thinking I may buy some of these, as they are going for like £30ish at high street stores. What's a good season? I remember like 6, 7 and 8 being decent... hmm...
  20. I just found out that The Perfect Catch is a remake of Fever Pitch (it's called Fever Pitch in the US). Has anyone seen this? How does it compare to the Colin Firth version? Click here for The Perfect Catch DVD artwork. US Artwork UK Artwork
  21. SPOILERS BELOW Aye good start to the second series. I hate the US season breaks so waited a while before watching the first episode of the second season. I'm surprised that they've kept the same narrator (Angela), as her story was finished last season. All they've got to do is tie up loose ends with Zach and that's it. Onto to the new neighbours... creepy - keeping a tied up gimp in the basement. LOL @ Rex's funeral. Hmm can't wait for the rest now. I was hoping that I would last a bit longer. Oh well. PS: Please be considerate by warning readers of spoilers for future episodes.
  22. Just started my career as a graduate engineer. Starting salary is currently 23,000 per annum, which isn't great but it should rise to 30,000 after my rotations. I'm doing calculations, design specifications etc for oil and offshore components. Advice to engineering under-grads: target companies like BP, Shell and Conaco Philips, if you're after the highest salaries (around 28k - 32k). However these companies have a very difficult recruitment process - so prepare in advance. My mate is now working for Conaco Philips and is on 32,000. I'm thinking of doing an MBA in a few years time (anyone done one of these?). In your placement, you are pretty much guaranteed 1500 per week (or 78,000 per annum), providing you put in the effort.
