I'm surprised people struggled to follow Vanilla Sky. It explains everything very clearly... Any Lynch title is pretty difficult to understand, but I don't think his titles are about following a storyline as such. You gotta pick out the symbolisms and parallels with our world that he's trying to make. Check out David Lynch's "The Grandmother" - one of my favourite Lynch movies.

I got me tickets for the world premier of Land of the Dead. Showing at this year's Edinburgh Film Festival (in August). Tickets are selling out fast... Romero himself might be there w00t.

Anyone going to the Edinburgh Film Festival? - Land of the Dead World Premier! I'm going. It gives you a good chance to see films that everyone else will be raving about in 1 or 2 years time. The highlight I think is gonna be... George A. Romero's Land of the Dead (International Premiere) This is so eagerly awaited. Romero's 4th film in the 'Dead' series - tickets are selling out fast. Also gonna check out a rare screening of... Dominion: Prequel to Exorcist Paul Schrader directed Dominion: Prequel to Exorcist. However the executives were not pleased with the psychological thriller approach - they wanted more MTV style nu-ass cheap scares so hired Renny Harlin to give the movie a good raping. The end product is the pile of turd known as Exorcist: The Beginning. Now for the first (and only) time in the UK, Dominion will be shown in its original form. Reviews have been positive, saying that it's a very decent psychological horror. Considering that the film will never get a commerical release, this is your one and only time to see it - unless you can make your way to another film festival. Other films I'm seeing 36 Quai des Orfvres Bittersweet Life The Moustache P And hopefully Serenity - the movie version of that TV sci-fi series Firefly. Also all the directors, actors n stuff will be there. Eliija Wood for example will be promoting his new film about English football hooligans.

You could not be any more correct, that show ruled. I watched the American version and it's funny how they play it. The players are more bitchy, back-stabbing and concentrate more on misleading the other teams than finding their own way home. In other words, they play dirty. But back to this show, you should enjoy it (at least the first half of the season). However it starts to get annoying when they raise more unnesecary (sp) questions instead of answering the previous ones.

I don't think there's a thread on this? (Did a search anyway). What do people think of the first series of Lost? I think it's a great series but I thought the final episode was a waste of time. They didn't answer anything. They might as well have ended on the penultimate episode, which in my opinion would have concluded the first season better. There's so many theories going around as to what's happening on the island. Guess we'll have to wait til season 2 this September.

Aye that's the thing. There's an advert for Burger King which featured Paris Hilton but it got banned in the UK. I can understand if they don't show it before 9pm but maybe afterwards is OK. Anyways, the British public's favourite pastime is bitching about TV adverts so I'm not that surprised anyway - especially after the KFC fiasco (the one with the singing emergency helpline women singing whilst stuffing themselves with KFC food). Only in my opinion - but there is no comparison between Greggs and Subway. Subway is the ultimate; comparing it to Greggs is like comparing Stonehaven to New York. For your money, I believe you get a lot more from Subway. Greggs is sometimes ok (I live above a Greggs), but I can't stomach all the grease...eugh. When I'm hungover I don't complain though. I love Subways, but yeah sometimes the staff can make a dodgy sandwich. If made properly though, mmm all those salads, meats, sauces etc. yum yum... Again only in my opinion.

Desperate Housewives is a fantastic series overall in my opinion; also had a superb finale. Answered all the major questions plus left on a cliffhanger. I've seen other series such as Smallville and Lost - however both of them had dud episodes whereas I think Desperate Housewives has always been consistently entertaining. Cannot wait for the new series, roll on September/October...

Well Aberdeen desperately needs a good cinema. There are only 9 screens at the UGC. Not sure how many Vue has. As a result, neither cinema offers a great choice.

Any ideas when it'll be finished? Do Odeon have a monthly pass?

See the area next to the bus & train stations, they are building a cinema there right? How many screens will it have? Furthermore, which cinema chain will be running it? At the moment, the choice of films to watch at the cinema (in Aberdeen) is pretty limited. The Vue and UGC are far too small. I was wanting to buy a UGC card but it hardly seems worth it. I know that a lot of top titles don't even make it to Aberdeen. Only the Belmont really shows the contemporary titles I'm after. I guess living in Glasgow for five years, I've been spoiled by the towering UGC we have here. I move back to Aberdeen after the summer. Any info appreciated. Cheers.
