  1. I'm not sure why but I found these amusing lol. Cheers OP.
  2. I can vouch for Play-Asia and Yesasia. Both deliver to the UK and have some Hunter x Hunter stuff.
  3. OMG. If you have any appreciation for world cinema, I'd urge you to make this your next film to watch. It's directed by the guy responsible for Oldboy. I felt the same rush after watching JSA. It's pretty sad that I hadn't seen this before (had ample opportunities). It's a bittersweet tale of the North/South Korea divide that takes place on the DMZ. Gritty yet touching stuff. Cracking DTS mix on the disc as well. Link to DVD
  4. Aye and you don't even get that. (Unless you like male A).
  5. Yup I guess you make an interesting point there.
  6. Actually he's right. The DVD market is a lot bigger than the cinema market. It is a lot easier for film companies to rely on DVDs, which is why the period between cinema to DVD has been getting shorter every year. It looks like most movies seem to last a month maximum on the big screens, simply because most of us are patient enough to wait for DVD.
  7. Who's surprised? Me? I knew it was going to be dreadful (think most folk could've guessed).
  8. Pardon me for stating the obvious but yeah, it's pretty abysmal. It's about Stiffler's little brother perving on the wild activites at band camp, by installing hidden cameras everywhere. The guy who plays the younger Stiffler is a new actor (not the same guy in the first two American Pie movies). They've hired some poor impersonator - imagine someone getting drunk and reciting stiffler lines over and over. That's kinda what this is all about. The jokes are just not funny anymore. Oh gods, I want my 90 mins back.
  9. Finally got round to seeing this. Absolutely superb conclusion to the many questions raised in the series. I'd love to see more but it looks like this may be it for the Firefly universe (for the time being). Excellent stuff.
  10. There are some companies out there, who don't think ahead on how their URL will look. Check these out (note, they are all innocent, clean websites and are work safe): http://www.molestationnursery.com/ http://www.penisland.net/ www.therapistfinder.com www.whorepresents.com http://www.expertsexchange.com Favourite one is Powergen's Italian branch. They became Powergen Italia: www.powergenitalia.com
  11. Man you shouldn't drink that much cola (or any fizzy drink). The amount of sugar and acid, building up fat and rotting your teeth respectively, is ridiculous. I know it's hard as it tastes fine. But self discipline's required I think. Force yourself to drink juice or water instead.
  12. Me too lol. These days, it's insane to buy a DVD when it first comes out. Companies love to screw over customers by making them double dip.
  13. Seen Sin City? Well an extended version is coming out, just to piss off everyone who bought the theatrical version on DVD. Click
  14. For anyone in the same situation as the this guy... please check out the trailer: Trailer If you haven't bought the movie within the next 24 hours then there's something seriously wrong with you (or you're broke). And make sure you buy the uncut version. UK version is censored (sorry to repeat myself but I don't think people are understanding how badly censored the film is over here).
  15. Have the DVD kicking aboot but nae seen it yet.
  16. I'd like a mini review of the Akira Manga please. How in the hell did you manage to afford it? Or did you get it from the library or something? It's like 120+ for the entire collection.
  17. I presume you're talking about the movie? I'm itching to see this asap. I love Firefly. What did you think of the series?
  18. That's because you made the mistake of buying the UK Region 2 DVD. I urge you to sell it and import the Region 1 or Region 3. The UK Region 2 has dubtitles, not subtitles. Play the supposed "subtitles" with the English track - you'll see what I mean. I've made my point clear on the Howl's Moving Castle thread. A film should always be viewed in its original language, or as the director intended. If subtitles are required then so be it, it shouldn't really be an issue. However there are people who have a physical condition, preventing them to read. In that case, of course dubs are the preferred choice, as it will allow them to ultimately enjoy the title. DVDs and cinemas should always provide both options, so that the audience is fully aware and can make the appropriate decision.
  19. Around three or four minutes have been reframed/removed. Namely the prostitute beating scenes as the BBFC greatly oppose the glorifying of harming women (which was never the film's intent). The audio commentary has film expert Bey Logan wincing at certain chapters. This is confusing to the viewer as the shots have been reframed to keep the violence off screen.
  20. Top anime movies Akira Millenium Actress Perfect Blue Tokyo Godfathers Spirited Away My Neighbour Totoro Fist of the North Star Ghost in the Shell (this film is an acquired taste, be warned) Top anime series Paranoia Agent GTO Macross Plus Guyver I tend not to prefer anime series, especially the newer ones. They are really for kids and those who love their saturday morning cartoons. I've never gotten into Naruto. Elfen Lied in my opinion is exploitve crap. Violent for the sake of being violent. It was sort of ok, the story held through but was ultimately average at best. Amazing animation quality though.
  21. Ichi the Killer is a masterpiece in my eyes - my favourite Miike title and one of my favourite JPN movies. Did you watch the uncut version? The UK version is heavily censored. You need to import the US or Dutch version for a fully uncut version with English subtitles (the Dutch version has better picture quality). Ichi the Killer was meant to be an anime series but got cancelled after the first episode (which is available on DVD now). Not sure why as I really enjoyed the first instalment. Ichi-1 (the prequel to Ichi the Killer) is shite. Absolutely disappointing, lacks narrative focus, not to mention the visual flare that Miike usually exhibits in his titles. To suggest that it's better than Ichi the Killer is insulting... but each to their own.
