  1. Coach Jules Winnfield (right click, save as).
  2. That's supposedly a bogus story - i.e. totally fake. I'll find out for sure once I receive word. Sounds too weird to be true anyway.
  3. Smallville Desperate Housewives Lost Who's Line is it Anyway Futurama The Simpsons Friends Dead Like Me Takashi's Castle and erm... American Idol (season 4)
  4. With the exception of one or two titles, I'm seeing good lists from: Paranoid Android, historicrocker and Logan. Those mentioning Ju-on: The Grude - you referring to the US or Japanese version?
  5. 1-9: 2LDK A: Akira B: Bullet in the Head C: City of God D: Donnie Darko E: Elephant F: Finding Nemo G: Gladiator H: Hana and Alice I: Ichi the Killer J: Jurassic Park K: Kill Bill Vol. 1 L: Lord of the Rings: Return of the King M: Mortal Kombat N: Nobody Knows O: Ong-Bak P: Predator Q: Quick and the Dead (the) R: Robocop S: Shaolin Soccer T: Terminator (the) U: Universal Soldier ** V: Versus W: Way of the Dragon X: X-Files - The Movie ** Y: Y Tu Mam Tambin Z: Zatoichi ** = Shit movies but it's the best I could think of starting with that letter. I tried to include some of my favourite directors in this list.
  6. I think so. Shinobi has quite a vast history in Japan.
  7. I'm quite a fan of Philip K Dick adaptations (Blade Runner, Minority Report, Total Recall et al) so looking forward to this. How is Waking Life anyway?
  8. Thought I'd bring the following films to everyone's attention: Night Watch Downloadable Trailer (23.3 MB) Shinobi (upcoming Japanese ninja flick) Downloadable Trailer (6.81 MB) The action choreography and photography for both these movies look mindblowing. Personally, these are films I don't want to miss.
  9. It's for a report I'm submitting to one of my University classes - nothing to gain whatsoever apart from two credits (is that ok?). Ahd yes - it's also a coincidence that I'm a nerd who's genuinely interested in the subject *sigh*. Anyway - I'd like to express my sincere thanks to everyone who contributed. You have helped a poor student out who's only trying to get through his final year in one piece.
  10. Hi I'm conducting a little survey. I was wondering if you could answer the following questions. Please be honest, I'm trying to examine public awareness of home cinema systems. Many thanks. Most are "Yes" or "No" questions. If you cannot answers certain questions, just leave 'N/A' or 'not sure'. 1. Do you know who "Dolby" are? 2. Do you know who "DTS" are? 3. Do you have a surround sound system at home (5.1, 6.1)? 4. Would you consider upgrading to a 5.1 or 6.1 surround sound system or upgrading to a better model? 5. Do you have the ability to play DTS encoded discs? 6. In general, rate Dolby 5.1 encoded discs from 1-5 (1 = poor, 5 = excellent). 7. In general, rate DTS 5.1 encoded discs from 1-5 (1 = poor, 5 = excellent). 8. Which do you think is superior - Dolby or DTS? 9. Do you think that surround sound systems are currently cheap, reasonable or expensive? 10. In general, rate the audio quality of music through a portable device via headphones (MP3, mindisc etc) from 1-5 (1 = poor, 5 = excellent). 11. Which do you think is superior - music through home entertainment system (hi-fi, DVD player etc) or music through portable device (MP3, mindisc etc)? 12. Rate the follwing idea from 1-5 (1 = poor, 5 = excellent): A portable device that generates rhythmic vibrations in time with the music. It would be stored inside a rucksack. In other words, if you were to walk and listen to your MP3, you would essentially 'feel' the audio against your back or front (depending on how you wore your rucksack). 13. What would be a fair price for such a device: 40 or less, 40-60, 60 or more Ok cheers. Any help appreciated.
  11. Click I know some folk have probably seen this but hope everyone else will 'enjoy' it.
  12. Ok granted the pilot was abysmal but the rest is suprisingly decent (original material). The recent basketball episode was pretty funny. I totally play basketball like Michael Scott - i.e. not very good, always lobbing the ball off the ceiling.
  13. I know I can't top the res dogs one (totally class).
  14. Aye if it helps someone who really needs it, all for the sake of a few clicks, then I'm game.
  15. Go to Aqua Plastics. Sounds simple enough. I've saved this URL and will try and help whenever I can.
  16. Sorry I sold it on another forum... Just need to update this. If you like world cinema (especially Asian titles), check back here from time to time as I sell/trade a LOT of discs (I get to watch a lot of movies this way). Sorry once again...
  17. sold some stuff + added hero details
  18. Some more World Cinema DVDs (all sold) Sold everything, please close/delete
  19. Ah looks like it's gone out of print now. My flatmate managed to get one, but now Virgin online doesn't seem to sell it at that price anymore...
  20. Nobody uses the search function anymore... 2nd episode is better (at least it's not another dreadful remake like the pilot), but not a patch on the UK version. I do like the main theme song though.
  21. Yup I agree. I know a lot of people adore this film but I failed to 'get' the message. Reasonably entertaining and twisted, like the new wave of Far Eastern cinema.
  22. Just watched the pilot, which is more or less a remake of the first British episode, with some 'Americanism' thrown in. The good thing about the original is that the performances were so genuine - at first people weren't sure if it was a documentary or comedy. The problem with the US one is that everything looks horrendously staged, almost like a sitcom and it loses authenticity that was present in the UK version. It's always going to be difficult to remake the original show. Gervais' portrayal of the manager works perfect for UK audiences but the American equivalent (Steve Carell who plays Michael Scott) is just far too OTT and it's difficult to find him funny. Aye bottom line is that it sucks, I won't be bothering with the rest of the series... Office at imdb
  23. I thought it was great... but I'm kinda biased, as I'm an admirer of Shyamalan.
