  2. i'd prefer to say' date=' "You're all swine". it's almost like a collective noun. i don't think it is officially though. i read that it's officially "a litter" of pigs. i just found a great page full of collective nouns, it's fascinating so it is. [url']http://users.tinyonline.co.uk/gswithenbank/collnoun.htm though i'd like to add my own ideally, "a legion of shitehawks"
  3. i've only listened to the first posted track so far, still downloading the second - drums sound horrible. it's not impossible to create dynamics with drum machines/sequencers - where is the bass? maybe the track isn't finished - guitar sound was quite yucky in parts, needs fattening up in my opinion, perhaps 2 rhythms panned left and right some amount and then your main twiddles center, or something like that. how did you record the guitar? it just sounded crickly instead of crunchy. needs more lard. - vocals i quite liked actually. really cheesy in parts, but a decent mix of styles, sometimes it was quite HIM like, other bits reminded me of james hetfield - the timing on track2 wrt the guitar is a bit funny, it sounds as if you are still getting to grips with computer recording. were you using headphones when recording the guitar? what was coming through the guitar. sounds like you just need to relax more when recording and stop listening for cues and go with the flow of the song. didn't think too much of the song in terms of originality, but it all fits together well and is compact and that. ok, the second one i like a lot more in terms of the song, at least at the start anyway, not sure about the wankfest 2 mins in, think that could be better presented with more interesting drums. the song starts of very misery loves co. in a way. what are you using for the drums? it sounds like a pretty typical drum machine sound. i really like the vocals on track1 actually, they're cool.
  4. the plural of swine is swine. swine.
  5. saw them at lost weekend in 2000, thought they were really dull. maybe they were just starting out though.
  6. i can't believe the pope doesn't have a playstation
  7. don't you have to use a memory stick? i've a feeling it's something to do with the power switch, e.g. you have VCR->OFF->RECORD->MEMORY STICK positions on the main mode wheel. maybe. i thought that encoded it straight to the memory stick.
  8. is there any reschedule date for aereogramme yet, just out of interest?
  9. yes, i heard lady mercedes were a much improved beast, though i'll perhaps reserve judgement until i see them. by all accounts it sounds (literally) as if the shit parts went to the moneyshot.
  10. yeah i saw this in this morning's p&j, never heard this person before. has he done much stuff in aberdeen? where does he usually play? will try to check this out later..
  11. well, if other people are having problems with m-audio stuff then all i can say is - it must be other hardware - so get a mac or a mackie! i've had my delta 66 a year now running under linux, i have zero latency hardware monitoring and 11ms software monitoring, can't complain about the drivers, and for windows users, drivers are supposed to be great - but then i've done my homework on IRQ placings and shuffled PCI cards around to give the delta a low IRQ number. hardware combinations are typically what fucks PCs for home recording, i.e. too many PCI cards, things interfering with signals, etc.. i bought m-audio for the decent breakout box and zero latency hardware monitoring, those were my needs at the time.
  12. agree with m-audio.. i bought a delta 66, but if i had my money, a job and some more money again, i'd buy the delta 10/10 with the 1U breakout box.
  13. what is it you dislike so much about kef? is it the venue? the promoter? the staff? or all of the aforementioned?
  14. yeah, i took me and my immaculate timing to the gig, they donned the stage 3 minutes after i entered. they were even better than i expected, and i expected a lot. i bought the old cd, and talking to the guitarist (not main singer one), discovered all the stuff about the new record is due soon! good stuff! looking forward to hearing it... the gig was a bit weird though, tunnels and all... i thought the sound was good, but just needed more people, and less tables (honest, i wanted to stand!) so that the volume could be cranked up.. i wish i'd seen them in drakes, but i'm also hoping i'll see them in kef or drummonds or similar, or maybe somewhere in glasgow.. they deserve big sound.
  15. christ, just listened to some mp3s of them i had lying about. i can't believe i haven't been to see them yet. hope they are on quite late.
  16. - just one room? - what's included with kit (cymbals/snare?)? - how many guitar / keyboard amps? - what sort of backline is available? - it's not much cheaper than cpt. toms. do you have a bouncy castle?
  17. line up for coachella valley music festival looks interesting this year, cocteau twins would be good to see
  18. have you got any material recorded, even rough demo type stuff?

    pitman

you get me i heard he had a new album out, is it true... ? witness the pitness!
  20. with all that exposure magic and trickery, chris looks like he's doing a def leppard drummer pose
  21. This was an official message from Drop The 'Detta 2005.
  22. i've seen them about four times, and they can be very hit and miss for me too. once in drummonds was great, another time in drummonds was horrible. once in drakes was rubbish, another time in drakes was excellent. don't know whether it is their performance or my varying recepticons.
