  1. Flash, I havent noticed being that much of an issue, and I'd have to say my HTC had better battery life than my phone 4 which I get a day out of if I hardly use it.
  2. I went the opposite waty, i love(d) HTC, I've had an HTC phone since 2002 when they were the people who designed the Orange SPV and I had various SPV's right down until i got my Touch HD a few years ago, loved it and it could do everything an iphone could do. This time round I went for an iphone 4, because i found such a difference between the Iphone 3g and 4 in terms of useability./speed etc. i did toy with getting an HTC Desire, but having used my mates was never quite convinced of it. Much as i loved my Touch HD, towards the end (because it ran Windows mobile) it started to fail so I'd agree with Bigsby that an HTC is a good idea providing its not a Windows one. Personally i would go for the iphone, as an ex-hater of all things iphone, the 4 has really won me over, i'll still think carefully before going for my next phone but the iphone is the best on the market imo for now, not necessaily because of the technology but rather the user friendliness and theamount of peripheral apps etc, though android is catching up fast.
  3. Some of my favourite performances from through the years : Torn - Natalie Imbruglia - Not my favourite song but love this version: Ian Hunter/Mick Ronson/David Bowie/Joe Elliot and some of Queen - All the young Dudes - Freddie mercury Tribute Show - the great Mick Ronson's last live appearance: The much underrated Sensational Alex Harvey Band - Old grey Whistle Test - Delilah, nuts, but Zal just looks bzarre...: Bit of a long one this, but Queen at Live Aid, 1995, one of the best performances on the day, and shows a band at the peak of their powers. Not for everyone but I love them all
  4. SPOILERS-------------------------- So do we reckon the little girl is Amy's daughter, who may also happen to be River Song... Hence the killed the best man she ever knew... though quite how she could do it as a little girl and still become a well known Dr etc I'm not sure if she gets jailed for it...
  5. Great episode, very disappointed they did a dedication to Lis Sladen and not Nick Courtney which seemed a bit of a slap in the face for the companion who has acted opposite the most Dr's - for those interested: Patrick Troughton, Jon Pertwee, Tom Baker, Peter Davison, and Sylvester McCoy (he also played a different part opposite William Hartnell, and had acted in Dr Who audio's with Colin Baker and Paul McGann, and a UNIT audio with David Tennant. Looking forward to next weeks episode.
  6. Quite possibly, but if that's the will of the people who vote for them, that's what we should have to accept. If 20% of a constituency vote BNP, however abhorrent we may find their views, they should be allowed to represent those people, that's what democracy is about. If we start picking and choosing which parts to fiollow us depending on what the results are we're no better than those we complain about.
  7. I would have thought the opposite, AV gives more of a chance to the smaller parties who normally wouldnt have a chance of winning seats, hence why the Tories are so against it and the Lib Dems for it, it gives the smaller parties a fairer distribution theoretically, the current voting system means a party could have over 50% of the votes but less than 30% of the seats iirc.
  8. What's everyone's thoughts on the forthcoming AV vote. personally I don't think it's a bad thing overall, though the thought of Nick Clegg getting back in fills me with fear...
  9. With thesad death of two of the best loved characters in classic Who, Nicholas Courtney and Elisabeth Sladen, we have eben revisiting a lot of old classic episodes on DVD, just wondering what people's favourite episodes/Dr's/Companions etc may be. I'm a big fan of the Big finish range of CDs which continue classic era Dr stories and with good writing even shows that Colin Baker could have been a good Dr. The BBC at the moment are playing some Big Finish 8th dr episodes which are really good with Paul McGann and Sheridan Smith. Favourite Dr: Controversial Choice, but my favourite is Sylvester McCoy, especially in his later stories and some of the Big Finish stuff as he is incredibly manipulative, and thinks nothing about destroying a planet if it suits him - ie manipulating Davros into destroying Skaro. A very Dark Dr and I'd love to know where they would have taken him had it not been cancelled. Favourite Companion: either Ace who I had a big crush on back in the day or the Brigadier, just because he seemed the most human in a lot of ways of the Doctors companions. Favourite baddie - the early Cybermen, they were genuinely creepy originally. less so in latter years and nowadays. Anyone else's thoughts on the original series ?
  10. With her and Courney dying within 2 months, both from cancer, it's proving to be a bad year for fans of classic Dr Who, she was the assistant that all other assistants have been compared to, and it still amazes me that CBBC in our 'yoof' orientated world allowed a woman in her 60's to be the main character in a flagship show, wasn't the greatest piece of TV but I loved the recent Dr Who/SJA adventures crossover with Matt Smith and Katy Manning, it was silly and fun.
  11. Well done to all involved, anything like this can't be bad for Aberdeen and the music scene.
  12. Course you have, you live in England, that's abroad from Aberdeen as i see it
  13. I got back from a Marillion Convention in Holland 2 weeks ago (it was rather good too) and I own nearly all of the available Dr Who DVDs... I have 90 something DVDs I think
  14. They should reunite with Aziz Ibrahim, he's a top bloke
  15. It's part of an ARG: Alternate reality game - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia "February 2009 also saw the release of another ARG, known as Marble Hornets, centering around the SomethingAwful myth of Slenderman, a paranormal entity."
  16. If I pay you Del could you put Michael McIntyre and Paul Gambaccini on next years list... can always hope...
  17. Del's averaging one a month which is really quite scary... so 9 more to go ?
  18. Good : Tony Hancock Eddie Izzard (might move into favourite at his peak) Riki Fulton Paul Merton Graeme Garden Tim Brooke Taylor Barry Cryer Richard Herring Stewart Lee Henning Wehn Jeremy Hardy Punt and Dennis David Mitchell Jerry Sadowitz Mitch Benn Favourites : Billy Connolly Scottish Falsetto Sock Puppet Theatre Andy Hamilton Bill Bailey Dave Gorman - but not his standup funnily enough Dara O'Briain Rubbish : Michael McIntyre Russell Howard
  19. Another one for you Del, seems like people on Del's list don't have much of a chance - beginning to wonder if your sneaking out at nights and 'helping'... Farewell celestial Toymaker...
  20. I hated them, saw them as support to Def Leppard and really didnt like them, I think the problem may have been that everyone else took them as a joke within the band and Justin didn't apart from his strangled falsetto that never sounded particularly good, i didnt see what made them popular. I did love the artwork for the second album - bit biased as it was done by someone I know, and the artwork he did for Justin's solo album that was never released is also brilliant, but I can't find a copy of it online.
  21. Agreed, really enjoyed it, some classic lines and the inclusion of Gary Coleman was genius, apparently he was asked to be in it originally but didnt turn up to a meeting about it, shame as he might have been on tour isntead of arguing with his wife and dying... Really liked it, might need to get the soundtrack.
  22. OK so if they're not selling albums that means they're crap, and if they are selling albums then they're also crap cos lots of other artists sell lots... As I said, i like them, i'll go and see them and I'll buy their stuff, they do still sell reasonable amounts and tour big venues though, admittedly not the size they used to but thats the same for most bands big at that time. Musics about entertainment and they still entertain me, so thats all that matters
