  1. She was quite nice about 10 years ago when she was on MTV Europe, but now she has that inherent anti-sexiness shared by grannies and small dogs, where it's impossible to think of them as a sexual being. Jennifer Anniston has the affliction now too. It'd be like trying to bone Cliff Richard.
  2. It far exceeded my expectations, very nicely put together, and it even made me swoon over Lucy Liu, something I previously thought impossible after suffering her performance (and that of everyone else's, Bill Murray excluded) in Charlie's Angels I and II. And the snazzy wallpaper was indeed ace. The director Paul McGuigan, previously did Gangster No 1, which had some great moments, though petered out when it had Malcolm McDowall rather than Paul Bettany in the lead. He's also Scottish too, which is pretty groovy.
  3. Yeah, it's something that I was interested in, given I go to the cinema about 4 or 5 times a week anyway, though I hope it doesn't become too jokey and lapses into being 'post-modern' (ie being very bad while trying to convince you that it's self-awareness of being rubbish should make you reappraise your opinion...)
  4. Perhaps you should try harder then...
  5. You should have heard the Popcorn Fiend cover of Embrace and Consume, now that was the ruckus. Just a shame I didn't actually get past recording the intro, but in my head it sounded awesome, which is as reliable an indicator as anyone could possibly need...
  6. I do actually like St Anger (well, some of it), and I have ears. But Rick Rubin as producer is definitely fantastic news, I think a break from Bob Rock was definitely needed, he seemed far too close to the band on Some Kind of Monster to maintain a perspective that you'd expect from a big-name producer. Plus I can't name any other decent band he's produced in the last 10 years. Rick Rubin, on the other hand, has a pretty darned fine record...
  7. Glad someone's finally grasped the moral of this story. Would it ruin my legitimacy if I admitted I've got Meatloaf's Greatest 'Hits' on my iPod?
  8. Leaving aside your perversions, I wouldn't call what Queen did 'bitsy' songs, I'd call them sections within a song, much as the MMW song has different sections that form the whole song. I think such structures can often be more interesting than the monotonous pace and dynamics too often found in popular modern guitar bands. Though not always, less we forget some of Meatloaf's (and Jim Steinman's) atrocities.
  9. I think his point is that having distinct sections within songs can be a beautiful, beautiful thing. Well, I hope it is, since all new Popcorn Fiend songs are turning into six-minute prog-electro-rock epics...
  10. What medical school did you go to to learn this, you fucking moron?
  11. I thought it was ace, perfect type of comedy for Friday night Channel 4. Great to see Chris Morris back on screen.
  12. I'm listening from rubbishy laptop speakers, but seems like a damned good recording, I concur with Chris, nice guitar sound.
  13. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. I'm so confused.
  14. The fact that I am now going to go home specifically to tape tonight's show before going out simultaneously fills me with joy, and then complete disillusionment at what's become of my life. Balls to it though, I'm going to watch Big Brother, and I don't care what anyone says. PS A kid died in Tommy Lee's swimming pool, which according to my "tabloid-ometer" would make him 10 times more a scumbag in the red-tops' eyes than Barrymore. Though the troubled TV presenter trounces the Motley Crue moron thanks to his homosexuality, a state of being which instantly makes even a fund-raising tea party for cancer victims seedy in the eyes of seasoned hacks.
