  1. Hmmm good point but hours of sitting pointing it at the keyboard with no avail would surely bring some amusement? I can't think of any pedal/thing that will let you get proper sustain that you can judge how long it lasts for on both guitar and electronic instruments...
  2. That's not going to happen...
  3. Yeah guy from muse uses the MotherBucker by Kent...TWO hotrails together!
  4. I was going to sugest the same item. I have heard one in use and it was great, infinite sustain by resting it above a string. Due to some magnetc field wizardry it makes the chosen string vibrate continuously.
  5. With some reading you could get into it, learn to solder, learn what the components are then all you have to do is wire point to point...making a pedal from scratch...now that would be alot trickier...
  6. Cheers Rob, that was the equation I was thinking of using...just wanting to confirm I was thinking right.
  7. That's some decent diagrams, I think I could have a blast at making that...
  8. When recording I found out the intonation on my bass was out by quite a bit...my low E and A strings have been moved back quite a distance and no longer are the saddles roughly inline as before...it looks weird <as it is quite an extreme adjustment> but the tuner says I am right...
  9. Whats sad about that, it's one of THE amps! It'll only make your CD finer!
  10. Next Atom gig, I dares 'ya
  11. So if your putting out 300W @ 4Ohm then you want both cabs to be 4Ohm aswell? In otherwords you don't have to worry about adding values?
  12. I don't think I know any entire albums...so tonight I shall learn one...something by the 'tallica
  13. I'd like an introduction of 2/3 songs as a taster but some surprises would be cool...as the only real surprise on last one was extended chasing ghosts <ohh what I a surprise!> but yeah new material <gets excited> Random P.S I saw Mac on the bus into Aberdeen yesterday...I could have haggled him about album had I known about this thread
  14. Perloid scratch plate...you tacky bastard! lol j/k I am making a tele currently, hopefully it's going to turn out good.
  15. Hmmm alot of Behringer stuff is quite cheap. Check online reviews on that harmony central site as it is people who own the products who do it. My instinct is to get the line 6 as they are used by many pro's but I don't know enough about the Behringer to say anything about it. [EDIT] Whatever you decide let me know how it is because I have always been curious about getting one though I don't know if it is worth the money... [EDIT] For others interested in the amp modelling/cab modelling/effects side of things here's that REALLY compact Korg I mentioned earlier...
  16. I ahve heard of both but don't know much about either...check out harmony central for reviews, you'll find it if you type that in on google. Line 6 is a very good company with the leading products so I'd prob. be tempted to go that route...depends how much modelling/effects you need. There's always the Pod and V-Amp for less cash and Korg have a new amp simulator + effects that is little bigger than a tuner...the guitar version got a fab review in the most recent guitarist so I presume the bass one will also be good...why not go check out all your options at a shop...
  17. On the drum note if your using a shared kit I thought it was expected that everything gets changed. At Drakes the difference between set ups can usually be great and it doesn't seem to cause too much problems...aslong as people take their stuff off sharpish what's the prob. It doesn't take that long to change between kits...we've changed a 5 piece set up with 6 cymbols, double bass, different snare and different hats to a 4 piece with 3 cybols pretty sharpish without any one getting pissed off as far as I know... As for lending equipment you gotta be carefull...beer always seems to be a problem out drummer had someone spill a pint over his snare which was pretty annoying for him...though he's had to problem lending cymbols to people like the Switchblades and Atom drummers...if I use someones amps I tend not to touch the settings unless really needed and if I do they go right back...aslong as they say that's cool...you can kind of tell what a person is going to be like with your stuff and aslong as you tell them straight...and if they do not do as you ask then turn it off and tell them where to go...
  18. I found a fantastic site with 100's of different anolouge pedals on it. Will stick link up tonight if I can find it...
  19. Good luck with future ventures, the chalk boads will never be the same!
  20. Well someone is bound to suggest a games night...? Metallica night using VHS this time lol!? [Edit] With various back up vids/dvds just incase...bit of AIC maybe some Led Zep?
  21. I have used the guitar DS-1 on my bass and it was good...I guess the bass version being more suited to the low frequencies would be better...can anyone explain what kind of compression is needed when using distortion on bass?
  22. Hmm well I know a fair share from the subjects I do, I am planning on sticking some pedals together soon to see if the theory works.
