No BC rich...look at the inlays on the neck. As far as I am aware fernades do not do those inlays. Everything about that guitar bar finish and control layout says BC Rich.

All bands are boring...how could you possibly have seen all the local bands? What kind of music are you into? Perhaps there's a local band out there for you that you just haven't found.

Ok so I play bass in a band that's my main instrument and something I want to master. However I do also love to play guitar. I find guitar playing harder in the intial stages but now I have a base in both instruments they are equally as challenging. Someone compared a chello to a violin...it's the same with bass and guitar...or a drum kit and a bongo. Although they appear the same they are very different. The mind set of a bass player and a guitar player is very different. They are doing different jobs but each has it's own difficulties. My dad for example plays guitar extremely well but is just not suited to playing bass in the traditional backing sense of the instrument. Instead more of a lead style comes through with guitar solo style licks...which again are equally as difficult.

Personally I wouldn't put some of those strings on the same sides as you have. I would wind them on in different directions to get a straighter string pull and please cut the end off...it's so untidy! Could lead to scratching too...or eyeballs getting stuck.

Check out www.gak.co.uk for basses and then look online for some reviews...search for harmony central on google they have customer reviews on everything. Once you've found some you like see which shops ahve them and which can get them in for you in Aberdeen. If you don't mind the trip Dundee has a good shop soundcontrol www.soundcontrol.co.uk worth checking out.

I'd do it for free as I pity those strings! Ermm Ibanez... The SRX500 for 319 4 strings, very solid and simple to use bass that pouns out a great tone. Or the SR300DX for 249 the more slender version of the afformentioned bass. More control over your tone. Slim neck which offers easy playability. I bought one as my first bass and I think it's great. Also there is a 5 string version for 269. These basses would give you a few extra quid to buy a tuner and a strap and what not too. Also both Bruce Millars and RandB stock Ibanez basses.

Laney TF700 they are pretty decent, Capt. Toms have them and they get played just about all day solid. They sound good and are pretty versatile...also someone is selling one second hand on here.
