7 films apparently, but as Johnny is Tim Burton's actor of choice having made his real breakthrough role in Edward Scissorhands it's obvious he was going to be a shoe in for Willy Wonka and unlike most of the actors that are mainstream nowadays at least Depp is a very good actor. Anyone who's first role had him killed by being sucked into a bed is fine with me imho.

This was announced quite a while ago now, I saw a trailer for it the other day tho, it looks really fucking ace! Johnny Depp is a great choice for Willy Wonka, songs will be included!

The original was dark anyway, as was the book since it was written by Roahl Dahl! notice how everyone involved has a cool name, damn right!

I watched the original last year and how freaky is it! I didn't realise but there is some seriously scary stuff going on in that film..ooo the tunnle scene has to be the worst!
