What happened to our scene?

I actually think Jake and John are fine chaps from my encounters with them in the real world, but their chat on here is shit. Awful, cringeworthy spiel. Every time I see a thread I like pop and their name is at the latest posters bit, I feel very sad.

I feel the same about Soda Jerk's inane Dawsonesque monologues every time he posts. It's all just part of the Aberdeen Music experience.

As a member of a new band in Aberdeen, I'm not quite sure what to expect when we play live - have a few gigs lined up for the end of January and throughout February - I guess it depends on how well you promote your gigs. I went to see a band on Monday night at Drummonds (granted, an almost improtu gig which was poorly promoted on a Monday night isn't going to draw the biggest of crowds) and there were a fair few folk there. Don't think the 'scene' (hate that word) has changed as much as some folk in this thread have stated, the mediums available for advertising has changed - as someone mentioned above, Facebook and other social media have become the main tool to promote gigs, not like the 'old days' where word of mouth and posters were your main resource.

Like I say though, I believe that the amount of folk turning up to your gigs is massively dependant on how well you promote it yourselves (and in some cases, how well the promoter does with his/her campaign)

My band is Uniform by the way :)

A scene first?

Our latest release featured on the much revered & massively respected BoilerRoom.TV website.

http://boilerroom.tv/bones-money-close/

They've upped 'Close' to their own Soundcloud page, where it's racked up nearly 600 plays despite being published about half an hour ago.

Pick up the FREE single from our Bandcamp page (oh, and have a listen to our other releases too if you find the time).
