jamesbroonbreed
would it be a bad move to turn up at one of those random folk jams in the blue lamp/globe etc. with a synth that did loads of really cool bag pipe and fiddle sounds and start jamming along? I'd imagine youd get frowned upon and eventually told to sling your hook but should you?please discuss.Decorum ma tata

framheim
depends if you want to go along to actively take part or for some other reason.you could try contacting the people at scat who i believe organise the jams at the globe.Scottish Culture and Tradition - Home page 2008
Swingin' Ryan
Strangely enough, I was playing around with the bagpipe presets on my Roland the other day and thinking 'I wonder if there's any feasible way I could fit this into a song without it sounding ridiculous'. The answer is probably 'no'.

Biz
Bagpiping? ooh err missusI bought a set of bagpipes but it is like wrestling with an octopus whilst blowing till my cheeks ache . The solution has been found by my friend Cyberpiper -he plays electric pipes and I play electric drums - MySpace.com - cyberpiper - - Electronica / Folk / Trance - www.myspace.com/cyberpiper .I intend to do similar stuff in Scotland with conventional pipes and Flats drums - more fun than a Bodran or Cajon and less hassle to carry around than normal drumkits . Humey Whilem
Makes me think of that guy that played jazz on bagpipes... Who's he again?
KimyReizeger
I bought a set of bagpipes but it is like wrestling with an octopus whilst blowing till my cheeks ache . .I once saw about twenty people leave an open mic in Glasgow after a jaw-dropping, completely-out-of-context, twenty minute musical tirade from a particularly cruel and oblivious young man. Keep the pipes for weddings and rugby matches please!
