  1. 230 tickets for the Cambridge v Man Utd game going on general sale this morning, gutted am gonna miss out but will be there at Old Trafford for the replay
  2. bloody hell Bigsby has just one point less than what I won the thing with last year, an impressive start! A lot of time for coffin entering to go though...
  3. could this be a good time for Cambridge to be playing Man Utd? I won't be at the game sadly but will be an armchair fan for the evening and shall watch it on the telly, well looking forward to it!
  4. during a quiet moment alone the other day I started going through my list and thought 'ooh the actor Rod Taylor would have been a good pick' unfortunately I had already submitted my list. then the bastard goes and dies last week
  5. He's a cult legend down in the lower leagues in England but fuck me he scores goals, good to see him score tonight, saw him at the Abbey playing for Northampton in a pre season couple of years ago and yes he is one big motherfucker!
  6. delighted with the man poo draw but doubt we will beat them but you never know 10,000 packed into the Abbey Stadium, Man U might not like that up em!
  7. yay finally get the title, retaining it is another matter!
  8. Just seen the two Steve's names linked with the job - Bruce and MaClaren! But I imagine even the late Sir Bobby will be linked with a return to St James's Park!
  9. I'm glad Wilko is not gone but at the start of the year it made Celebrity Death tactics sense to put him in the list. I do have Ali though, still two days to go.... anything could happen!
  10. my god they love the EPL over here in Brazil, yesterday I watched Spuds v Man Poo followed by Southampton v Chelski then there was a choice at 3 PM, both the Man City and Arsenal games were on live. And yes when there is a goal the commentator does shout 'GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL" every single time!
  11. Cambridge finally getting promotion back into the football league was the highlight of a memorable year for me club wise and winning the FA Trophy to boot so two cracking days out at Wembley. Now we have settled into life in League Two and are sitting happily in mid table. Really enjoyed the world cup best one in a while.
  12. top of the league by a solitary point from arch rival Alan Cynic, an exciting finish to the season, if the great Wilko Johnson hadn't defied medical science and popped his clogs the title may just have been in the bag but then again I'd rather him alive than dead!
  13. Just had a look at the last points update and there was just two points between the top four, an update as we end of the business end of the season would be good, I got no points since then that I do know!
  14. At the end of the day the three points against ROI were of much more importance than bragging rights against the auld enemy. That was a tidy performance from England and they were worthy winners.
  15. Looking forward to the 'Auld Enemy' meeting tonight, always a tasty game and I think Scotland might sneak it.
  16. So glad the FA Cup is back on the BBC, looking forward to Warrington v Exeter.
  17. I think its just the shirt, it looks so utterly stupid, how could you take anyone in a concept as hideous as that as a true supporter?
  18. Yeah an utterly ridiculous concept, mind you she doesn't really look like a serious football supporter!!!
  19. Like this article about football no no's, pretty much agree with most of them but thought a lot of fuss was made about Balotelli's half time shirt swap. The leaving early one gripes me - three blokes where I stand at the Abbey leave with 10 mins to go every match... we scored an 87th minute winner on Saturday http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29743332
  20. home to fleetwood in the fa cup, winnable tie!
  21. let's try this with the actual link dur! http://www.theguardian.com/football/that-1980s-sports-blog/2014/oct/06/cambridge-united-31-matches-without-win-1983-1984
  22. Brilliant article about Cambridge's dismal 1983/84 season when we went 31 league games without a win (since been beaten by Derby in 2007/08).
  23. I've never willingly wanted Cambridge to lose but by jove have come close on numerous occasions because a hapless, dickface, idiot twat has been in charge and the only way you will see the berk removed is to lose games so can see where Murrr is coming from. Another hapless defeat for the toon army, Pardew is like a dying animal who just needs to be put out his misery!!!!
  24. Should Lynda Bellingham survive the rest of the year as her cancer is terminal and she's stopping chemo at the end of November, I would imagine she will be everyone's joker next year since she doesn't expect to last beyond the end of January.
  25. Carrying on the legacy of Moyes I see!
