  1. Derby have sacked Steve McClaren, must be lined up for the Newcastle job lol!
  2. Quite agree what a load of fuss and nonsense regarding Gerrard! He's probably do a 'Lampard' and go back on loan anyways. Still was hilarious they got done by Palace on the day!
  3. I did think I might have dear old BB but sadly not, a terrible year for me so far, the board have given me a vote of confidence! My signings such as Eddie Large and Burt Reynolds have simply not delivered!
  4. Apparently in Spain, Bale got a 0/10, surely he wasn't that bad? Wouldn't blame him if he came back to the Premier League next season.
  5. Errol Brown of Hot Chocolate is not a sexy thing no more http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-32613573?post_id=754786293_10153184284276294#_=_
  6. nothing would surprise me in football tbh
  7. Carver is sitting at a set of traffic lights when a voice boomed out 'Your doing a great job!'. Then Dick Advocaat drove off...
  8. Newcastle are way too big to go down!
  9. Burton came to the Abbey yesterday and were crowned league two champions by beating us 3-2 in a thrilling encounter. We had nothing to play for apart from finishing either 18th or 19th, they scored two absolutely corking goals! A draw would have been a fairer result as we more than matched them but they didn't want the embarrassment of Cambridge doing the double over them! Down to ten men as well but cannot begrudge Burton the title. Jimmy Floyd looked rather dapper in his nice suit. Stuck around to have a peek at the trophy ha ha!
  10. Carver will be gone from the managerial position but yeah McClaren a pretty underwhelming appointment, not sure he can take the club where the supporters want it to be.
  11. Newcastle desperately trying to beat their record of 10 defeats on the bounce I see!
  12. and now Ruth Rendell, like Sledge and King, I thought they had all been dead for years!
  13. Heard some of the new tunes by Blur today with Coxon back in the fold and have to confess more than impressed with the results, like they never been away!
  14. Totally my mate at work lumped 50 quid on Newcastle to get relegated at 50/1 this week, those odds shortened now of course. Talk about free fall! But you wanted rid of Pardew did you not? Maybe the grass is not always greener?
  15. Oh well that's all the English clubs out of Europe before we even reach the quarters, not quite as good as they think they are!
  16. Much as I am sad to see him go am delighted to get my first points of this campaign with the passing of Sir Terry!
  17. Now the media circus has died down and Cambridge United have become a nobody league two side again, our form is alarmingly bad at the moment. A 6-2 thumping at home to Portsmouth last Saturday was beyond embarrassing. Every single fucking Pompey goal could have been avoided but thanks to some keystone cops defending we let in goal after goal after goal. It's even like Portsmouth are that good. It's the nature of football that a defense can keep out the likes of Man Utd yet concede six to a fellow league two side at home! So what does Richard Money do? Sign another fucking striker on loan! That's 39 players we have used this season! On the other hand I am more confident we will stop hurtling towards the conference trapdoor as I am not going to the next couple of homes games and as the season progresses I am becoming more convinced I am a curse on the team this season. Of the seven home defeats I have been in attendance for six of them and the three thumping wins we have endured, I have missed the lot!
  18. Tim Sherwood seems to be linked with every single Premier League job at the moment!
  19. Winning the title is hard enough but defending it is even harder, I suspect a season of struggle as my coffin dodgers keep dodging the grave.
  20. A wise choice since after the euphoria of the cup match they are bound to win plus they're struggling at the moment and the Abbey Stadium has hardly been a fortress this season apart from when playing Premier League sides so all the odds lead towards a daggers win! And what a shit prize for beating Manchester United at Old Trafford next Tuesday, an away trip to either Sheffield United or Preston North End, bah humbug!
  21. After hosting Premier League minnows Manchester United last Friday it's back to the league tonight and a visit from that football giant Dagenham & Redbridge... 2 things guaranteed - a) a 2-0 defeat and b) it won't be a sell out like last Friday!
  22. I think the problem with Man Utd is they are so beatable, I know they had many a dodgy moment and some poor results under SAF but these days they are just not the force they once were. I always predicted they would go crap once the moaning purple one left but am pretty impressed at just how awful they are these days. The dour Dutchman has pumped shit loads of money into the squad and they are still underachieving, they should be title challengers but are fast turning into the new Arsenal - happy with 4th and quarter finals at best in champions league.
  23. so proud of Cambridge tonight but more proof in the pudding that Manchester United are ridiculously useless without Sir Purple Face, more money for us via the replay! I was impressed at how ordinary Man Utd look tbh
  24. What football are ITV actually gonna be showing from next season??? Can only think of some England games, they seem to have lost everything else but still glad Townsend and Chiles have gone, no doubt both will end up on Talksport! Jesus four and a half hours till kick off, probably a good thing have to go to work at 6 AM or I would probably be half cut already!
  25. Now I'm back in the UK from my hols, the reality I am not going to the Cambridge v Man Utd game is kicking in but buzzing anyways, so nice to see my little old club everywhere, great coverage for us!!! As for the game I just hope we don't get a stuffing which is always possible with this kind of tie. But these days as MK Dons proved Man Utd are beatable so if we play to our strengths who knows what could happen. I'd like us to sneak a draw and get a money spinning replay! And don't believe what the Dutchman says we are not a long-ball direct team, I think its just his preconception of how teams in the lower leagues play.
