  1. Is there any modifications that can be done to a Boss Metal Zone to stop it from being absolutely dog shit and completely unusable anywhere outside of my own house (and in my house if I have company, as I don't want people to think I have tone not dissimilar to opening up a bottle of fizzy pop) ?
  2. 369 on ONE pickup?? Bloody hell. It better melt faces or I'd be getting my money back
  3. Is that Metalcore one any good? Is it any improvement on the AWFULAWFUL Metalzone?
  4. I saw him on T4 once. He looks like a chunky guy. He could kick my head in, that's for sure. I don't know what that has to do with anything.
  5. There's an infinite amount of music that is alot duller than Jack Johnson. That song about Chasing Pavements for example. What an arseload of crap.
  6. His music is pleasant enough. Some nice melodies and guitar playing but not something I listen to out of choice. Especially not that Soundtrack he did for Curious George. Sounds like some kind of musical episode of Playdays. Doing ABC's and being friends with flowers. Get fucked.
  7. Let's hope all the good bands are on the same day. You don't wanna be in Birmingham for longer than neccessary.
  8. Musically it was guff. Proper try-hard bilge. Saying that the "punk influence" of their music comes from "...Towers Of London" sparked a response from myself where I didn't know if I was laughing or swallowing my own sick. Either way, they look like fucking bell ends. I don't believe anyone actually likes their music, unless they are lying, deaf or just an idiot.
  9. Very sorry if this is in the wrong forum.... One of us can't make it and they will charge us with late cancellation. If anyone wants it, then it's yours. I can't get online very often so if this generates interest, I'll let you lot fight over it and decide who's getting it. Hopefully someone will want it! The slot is from 8-10 tomorrow night under the name "Officer". Cheers
  10. I have myself a sort of 'shadow' beard, or more commonly known as a chinstrap. Basically because the hair on my face grows like a 12 year olds. The hair under my jaw line can grow like a jungle though. My facial hair is cursed. Can anyone under 40 pull off a good stand-alone 'tache? I've never seen it done in this day and age.
  11. In that case, get a wall paper scraper. Or get a dab of sand paper and give it a right good wad of elbow-grease.
  12. I keep band demos in a seperate pile as they are usually in plastic or card sleeves, and aren't visible between my piles of jewel cased cd's. I really love an interestingly packaged demo though. It's good to see bands putting an effort in. A metal band back where I used to live sold one of their CD's for 2. It was just a CD with their band name on it (written with a CDR pen) and nothing else. Literally nothing else. Not even a plastic/card/paper sleeve. Nothing to put it in. Just a CD. I would never pay money for such an effortless release.
  13. Depends on how many people dig your band. If it's still on a local circuit playing to friends, then you need to be giving it away for next to nothing. If you are pulling crowds then sell it for a few quid. If you all pitch in and do it all yourselves together, then you've saved money already, so just toss it out for free. I'd rather have people listening to my bands CD than not, so don't deter them with jacked up prices. But obviously, if I properly liked a band, I would definitely pay 5 for a 6 tracker with some nice packaging. There's a difference between 'professional' and 'nice'. Professional usually means standard jewel case with 2/4/8 page insert. If you do it all home made, you can really experiment with the packaging, which is way more impressive than a jewel case.
  14. White spirit works a bit better than lighter fluid I find. Won't damage the paintwork either.
  15. As the title says. I'm after a case or gig bag that will fit my Explorer in so I'm not carrying it around in a binbag or in my Viper case with the pointy arse-end sticking out. Hard case or gig bag. Preferably gig bag as I don't really wanna be spending too much. Give us a PM if you've got one going spare. Cheers!
  16. This comes across as absolutely bonkers to me. Sure, if you want your band to "go places" (I don't want to use the term "make it") then you have to put alot of time, work and effort into it, but that doesn't mean it's not fun. Getting together with your band and putting a song together for hours if not days can be hard work, but it's still fun and probably an arseload more productive and self fulfilling than yours (or anyones) day job. Bands I've been in have toured all over the place and spent so many spare hours writing and recording. Quite often huge, time consuming commitments with little or no monetary value in return. If you'd have asked any of us why we do it, it'd be because it's just the most fulfilling thing we could be doing right now, despite how difficult and stressful it can get. Your black and white blanket statement of a jam after a few beers with your mates being fun, but an actual, hard working band not being fun is ridiculous. You completely miss out the absolutely massive middle ground between the odd casual jam and a band which is pushing to make as much money as possible. And I personally wouldn't want to be in a band if it wasn't fun. I'm sure that goes for alot of people.
  17. Actually, no. I must retract my offer as I my temp job ends soon, so I can't afford it for a while.
  18. The gang's all there. Why didn't they just get Canty in too and make a Fugazi record? I wasn't a fan of Joe Lally's debut record, but I saw him in Manchester last year and it was pretty great.
  19. I think we've got a lineup sorted now. Sorry bro.
  20. Yeah, you don't need to know any code or anything. There's arseloads of websites that do all the coding for you if you choose how you want it to look.
  21. I'd well have this if it didn't have a Floyd bloody Rose on it. I just cannot get my head around floating trems.
  22. Did you get both JJ power and pre amp valves? Their power tubes are alright, but their preamps really don't last.
  23. Get a Matamp cab. Cheaper and better. Orange cabs are also the same spec as Mesa cabs. The only catch is that it's bright fucking orange.
