  1. Buy a Tremol-no. About 40, and you can switch between having it hard tail, trem or double trem with the turn of a knob. Radical.
  2. Baaah, the Jarmans! Turkey were great going forward, but diabolical in defence. Its a shame their coach has quit. He achieved alot with them this Tournament and they were excellent in qualifying. He overcome a completely handicapped squad throughout and gave the starting favourites a run for their money. Kudos. As long as Russia or Spain win it. Preferably Russia. Arshavin has been outstanding. Hopefully he won't leave Zenit, but it's looking likely.
  3. The Boss one is shit. The Dan Electro one is much more effective and sounds much better. probably the only Dan Electro pedal you could ever say that about. It's cheaper too!
  4. Ah no, I take that back. Just found out RGX's come equipped with Floyd Rose bridges. I cannot abide those things.
  5. Can you take a picture please?
  6. Hot Club are great. Always enjoy seeing them but I wasn't into Drop It Til It Pops On first listen, the new Glass and Ashes record is awesome. It's got a more dirty melodic rock influence to it. I dig.
  7. Cack. Folks have said the production is alot sharper and more fierce. I thought the first album sounded quite flat and lifeless alot of the time too, which held it back even though the songs are rad. I'll give it a blast tonight, whilst watching the football, because John Motsons voice will be the death of me.
  8. New records by Polar Bear Club and Glass&Ashes. Haven't listened to the new G&A yet, but I bet it's fully raging! The first was alright, but is totally overshadowed by how intense they sound live. Better production on the new one aparrently, so I'm looking forward to giving it a spin.
  9. Less Than Jake were my first love just about 10 years ago. I heard a couple of songs on the old Ps1 game Street Skater and was hooked, along with songs by ALL, who are also one of my favourite bands ever. LTJ haven't put anything good out since 2000 though. Their 2nd major label stint was quite underwhelming. I'm looking forward to hearing the new album. Despite loving LTJ, I've always hated ska-punk weirdly enough. Just a load of trumpet parping nonsense from a bunch of students wearing wacky trousers.
  10. Definitely. I love starting fights with hookers. They think I'm unarmed and start giving me feisty backhands, getting me all riled up... UZI'd! tk-tk-tk-tk-tk-tk-tk-tk-tk!!!! Then I scoff her cash.
  11. I'm still dating that Michelle. I keep trying to kill her. Bullets go straight through her and she gets "scared" but I've managed to twat her with a bat and punch her in the face. I also destroy her at darts, bowling and pool. Michelle is shit at sports. Definitely not my virtual type. I took her for a drink too, and I was trollied, but she wasn't. She just doesn't like to have a good time. I'm going to chuck her. Or just drive the car we're in into the sea.
  12. I'm twenty odd percent through it after about 5 hours play in total. I'm shit at it. The missions where you have to kill loads of fellas are too hard. My auto-aim keeps aiming at dead people, and I can't manual aim for the life of me. What percent does it roughly finish at after all the real missions are over? Obviously there's a load of other stuff to do as well as the graft. I'm fine just crashing into immovable objects and going through the window. It's a right laugh.
  13. You might be right. I haven't heard that song in a long long time. Either way, the rhyming is terrible throughout. I dig that. I especially like the line about groceries though. I'm a big fan of early They Might Be Giants lyrics. Far too many to mention all the best ones, but I like this one alot, from Hey Mr DJ, I Thought We Had A Deal? "I could never sleep my way to the top. My alarm clock always wakes me right up" Awesome.
  14. Good god, I never owned the album I'm afraid. I'm quite glad I didn't. I don't understand how Dre could go from his NWA material to his god awful solo career. I like those lyrics you posted though. Dre knows how to have a good time, but I just wish he'd go back to poppin' caps in the Poh-lice. Y'know?
  15. I like this one too. Dr. Dre - Forgot about Dre "So fuck y'all. All a y'all Y'all don't like me? Blow me. Mad at me because I can finally afford to provide my family with groceries" I like rap songs. I also like how "groceries" was the most angst ridden word the Doctor could think of that half-rhymed with "Blow Me". I hope I don't get caught up in one of his drive-by fruit-pelting's. Dayamnn.
  16. George Formby spits lyrics like no other. Dig this. Now I go cleanin' windows to earn an honest bob For a nosy parker it's an interestin' job Now it's a job that just suits me A window cleaner you would be If you can see what I can see When I'm cleanin' windows Honeymoonin' couples too You should see them bill 'n coo You'd be surprised at things they do When I'm cleanin' windows In my profession I'll work hard But I'll never stop I'll climb this blinkin' ladder Till I get right to the top The blushin' bride, she looks divine The bridegroom he is doin' fine I'd rather have his job than mine When I'm cleanin' windows The chambermaids' sweet names I call It's a wonder I don't fall My mind's not on my work at all When I'm cleanin' windows I know a fella, such a swell He has a thirst, that's plain to tell I've seen him drink his bath as well When I'm cleanin' windows Oh, in my profession I'll work hard But I'll never stop I'll climb this blinkin' ladder Till I get right to the top Pyjamas lyin' side by side Ladies nighties I have spied I've often seen what goes inside When I'm cleanin' windows ------ banjo ------ Now there's a famous talkie queen She looks a flapper on the screen She's more like eightie than eighteen When I'm cleanin' windows She pulls her hair all down behind Then pulls down her... never mind And after that pulls down the blind When I'm cleanin' windows In my profession I'll work hard But I'll never stop I'll climb this blinkin' ladder Till I get right to the top An old maid walks around the floor She's so fed up, one day I'm sure She'll drag me in and lock the door When I'm cleanin' windows When I'm cleanin' windows
  17. Public Enemy You Me & The Atom Bomb Squad Car Jack & John Specer Blues Explosions In The Sky Walker and Son of Dork Public Enemy Enemy You You Me and the Atom Bomb Bomb Squad Squad Car Car Jack Jack & John John Spencer Blues Explosion Explosions In The Sky Sky Walker Walker and Son Son Of Dork I cheated a little bit with the word Explosions, and I included two of my old, old bands (Squad Car which changed its name to Bomb Squad because there's a European Ska Band called The Squad Cars. It was a shit name anyway)
  18. I can't even think of one band name that follows another, nevermind four.
  19. Gainesville in North Florida has one of the most currently active punk rock scenes on earth at the moment. There's a whole weekend of pretty much every active Gainesville band (and more) in October called the Fest, and it's quality! (Although I just double checked, and you're going in June. Bummer!) No Idea Records is based in Gainesville. Most of their roster is based in Florida and there's gigs going on all the time. Have a look. Their links page should be able to link you to the Gainsville Band Page, or whatever it's called. That has more up to date local gig listings. No Idea Records Dunno if gruff punk rock is what you're after though...
  20. Nice work. I just added them all to my virtual Dischord shopping cart. Including postage it costs $335.50 DAYAAAAAAMN! I want.
  21. Now that you mention it, the american Dollar is on it's arse at the minute, so it wouldn't be too expensive. Still, I want to own them all. Have you recieved yours yet? Is the packaging nice?
  22. Finished off my Karate collection by picking up 'In The Fish Tank 12' (super awesome Minutemen covers!) and Cancel/Sing - two songs in 25 minutes. Ouch.
  23. I've heard 8 songs from the new album and it's toss. There's 3 decent songs, and by decent, I mean listenable. The good songs are better than anything from Make Believe, but the bad songs are worse than anything on Make Believe, so it balances out to be as bad as Make Believe. Joy. Maladroit is good, with about 1/3 of the songs being a bit crap. Green isn't a bad album. It's just boring and samey. Every song sounds too similar. Same structure leading to a simple guitar solo played to the same melody as the chorus or verse. The solos on Maladroit totally SHRED!
  24. It gets a bit costly if you wanted to own them all though, which I will want to own them all, to keep my Fugazi collection complete. Cheers, Mackaye.
