  1. I'm a big Zola fan and want him to do well. They are looking in control so far and have that cushion from an early mistake in Fulham's defense. Your money should be safe. ......... em....... scrap that..... what a peach of a strike!!!
  2. West Ham vs Fulham first goal scorer Di Michele - 2 quid on 7-1. Back of the net!.... literally. Mug's game my arse.
  3. Never knew he was a Gurkha! What a hero. It's fitting he went after two (brush) strokes.
  4. shit! i only saw the result, would have been more gutted if id have known that. Only put a tenner on it and Man Yoo, Chelsea (just), Arsenal, AC Milan and Bordeaux all winning still meant i was 50 quid up for the wknd. Rough with the smooth and all that. Fiver on the Dandies winning at 5-1 today!
  5. Edinburgh festival is a treat for celeb spotting. One of the most surreal moments of my life happen in Edinburgh during festival time... First Michael Caine drove past in a porsche as I was crossing the road, at the other side I spotted Clive Anderson then a guy rolled down his window and shouted at him...'you've got nae fuckin neck!!' As for actually meeting them... Ronnie O'sullivan signed a pair of trainers for me once (had no paper at the time and he suggested it... Legend) and Dave Gorman gave me a badge (He's like the coolest nerd you know times 10).
  6. All together now..... its a mug's game!
  7. at the risk of jinxing you... looking good so far!
  8. ha ha. They are the worst. just when ur rubbing your hands contemplating the joy of your spoils then... whoomph... The Irish striker Ric O'Shay pops up to knock it in from a goalmouth stramash.
  9. hmmm... don't know if id risk a tenner on that one. All English teams involved can go from the sublime to the ridiculous in seconds. Good luck tho.
  10. I'll take some of that action. cheers for the tip. If anyone fancies betting on French football, Bordeaux have been on an absolute rampage recently and I fully expect them to tear Nantes apart. They have the new Zidane in Yoan Gourcuff.... check this beauty he scored last week
  11. Google search results for "KH(Ax)N" for x=1 to 100 on Flickr - Photo Sharing!
  12. Gonzo: The life and work of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson at the belmont? Watched it the other night... amazing! Mixes factual bitties with crazy anecdotal bitties, real footage with dramatic reconstructions and maybe best of all Jonny Depp's voice with HS Thompson's words. A really thorough biographical documentary that is more affectionate towards the guy as a brilliant writer and a political brain rather than latching onto the loopy, drugs side of him for the 'freakshow' effect. Maybe not a date with the missus movie though.
  13. I'm sure you have, but just in case... have you tried using portable firefox? It was a joyous day when we discovered that it somehow bypasses any filter at my work.
  14. Agreed, innuendo died with the 3 1/2 inch floppy.
  15. Please do. I'm gonna speak to him tonight and at least get an idea of what kind of stuff he has.
  16. This is exactly the type of response I was looking for. I, and other members of my family are well prepared to take the time, put the effort in and are keen to do his collection justice. I will look into the sites you mention (all new to me). And, get back to you when I have a list. many thanks.
  17. The age old 7"/penis innuendo? on a music discussion forum? ...really?
  18. This site is brilliant and has helped me a lot. Thank you sooo much. I can't tell you how much stupid little administrative problems I've had since moving to France and this site has provided a lot of usefull info from British folk who have gone through the same thing.

    Weeds

season 1 and half of season 2 are funny and the plot is quite good. It gets exponentially gash after that though. The 'you're an uptight white woman from the suburbs and I'm a sassy old black woman from the hood' banter gets worn pretty quickly Worth watching for Nancy Botwin alone though. I would!
  20. I can see this Kaka situation going down the Ronaldo/Real saga road. i.e. tons of column inches for ages without anything happening... ZZZzzzz Saying that, I'd love it if he just fucked off the whole prestige and loyalty of playing for AC Milan and cashed in for the big bucks. Would be great to see him play in the prem.
  21. Agreed. One of big Sammy L's finest performances IMO. Nice 'hazy' californian look to the film too. I really like it when directors give you a real impression of the location/setting through visual aesthetics. (The bohemian green tinge of Amlie, the grottiness of Trainspotting being good examples)
  22. Hi all, For the last 20 plus years a vast record and memerobilia collection belonging to an uncle has sat untouched and hermetically sealed in the loft of my Granny's house. My uncle has lived overseas for all this time and has never allowed anyone to touch or even go near his prized collection. I am led to believe that it contains some valuable rarities from the punk/new wave era (a poster that he has recently went on ebay for 700 quid for example). Apparently my uncle was the type of guy who would do anything to get his hands on the latest releases, bootlegs etc, (Waiting outside hotels for band member signatures and even once paying for my granny to go all the way down to Manchester to make an under-the-counter transaction for one single 7"). The exact details of what the collection contains I do not know yet, I have asked him to compile a list for me just out of interest and am waiting for it to arrive. I'm not a vinyl expert or anything (nor do I know if this is significant or rare) but I do know he has every single release from Stiff records, bought literally as soon as printed (pressed?, cut?, I know its not 'burned' when talking about vinyl) amongst tons of other stuff. Anyway... current circumstances have forced him to either ship it all overseas or try get rid of it. Valuations have ranged from 10,000 to in excess of 20,000. However, he cannot stay in the country for the length of time it would take to get a worthy buyer/good offer for the lot yet he does not want to make a quick sale for it to turn out that the buyer goes on to make a mint after. It's probably the case that my family who stay in Scotland will have to oversee the whole thing. He has even talked about just chucking it all out!!!!!!!!!!!!! (seems like madness to me but I can kinda see where he's coming from....the sentimental attachment, the punk anti-money grabbing attitude, etc). My question(s) is/are the following: Anyone had experience with selling a collection? ebay? individually as opposed to the whole lot? how best to go about it? Any thoughts on the matter are welcome cheers
  23. This guy is one of the few genuinely talented/funny/interesting youtube users. Hadn't seen this one before. cheers.
