  1. good luck mate, i've been after that for a while off him
  2. just got the first mix of our new tunes back from exile, and i'll put them up on our myspace (the marionettes) when they are finished, but they sound really good, Mark has got some new gear, I think it's also great value for money as he spends a lot of time getting them to sound just right
  3. aye these folks are speaking sense, i wish i had followed that kind of advice when we started gigging. we got out first gig in the tunnels, and we played pretty well, because we practiced very hard, its just our songs were not up to standard...ach, we were young. however i know how you feel, you cant wait to get out there and play some gigs, but you'll make more of an impact if your first gig is a blinder. will try and get along to see you when you land a gig. cheers
  4. :L ..but your absolutely right man, i feel like i started all this, so i just want to say i actually share the same view as mr milne, and when i said it was good exposure, i meant for the bands involved, i think it would be a fun experience, and you could get some good gigs down south off the back of the show, if you were interested in doing that kind of thing. but the show doesn't make the next arctic monkeys, or franz ferdinand, as it says it does on the tin.
  5. the panic in needle park, got pacino his role in the godfather, its brilliant

    Irvine Welsh

i think trainspotting is amazing, i did a study on it, and after i read it i went out and bought a bunch of his books, they're all quite similar though, i enjoyed the acid house and marabou stork nightmares the best after trainspotting.
  7. can i get lost in translation please.
  8. i noticed some on gak for around 200 quid new, thats maybe a bit too much though, have you had a look on ebay?
  9. Just bought a Roland TD-3KW, was much cheaper than i expected and sounds great, so i don't need one now. cheers anyway
  10. No but i believe it is different to the newer models because of its age, the bridge is more like the original 1962 jaguar, looks damn cool. I made an adjustment to it with a file to stop the low E string from slipping out of place.
  11. Looking for something cheap, under 700 quid, but at the same time quality. However I am aware there arean't many 2nd hand digital kits going about. Just looking for something to play when i move out as i cannot take my acoustic kit with me to a flat for obvious reasons. cheers
  12. but then again, a lot of people think it's a shit contest with a shit prize, so it doesn't really matter what the outcome of it is, if you watch a band and you like them, you shouldn't be swayed by bloody jo whiley, i just think that it would be good exposure
  13. i don't mean to win it, just to show folks there is talent in Aberdeen. I watched it pretty religiously towards the end of it last time, and most of the bands that were any good have actually made more of themselves than the guys that won it. and alex james is on it
  14. it would be great to see at least one of our bands in it this year, was it not just dirty deeds that made an appearence on the telly last year from aberdeen?
  15. i actually managed to get up in time, for the first time in 5 years i might add, to make it to thainstone, last weekend, got some cracking dvds for a quid each. But in correspondence to the question, pretty much anything will sell, and bring a wee pop up table or something, cos it looks a bit crap if you just lay everything on the ground.
  16. What can i say? It breaks my heart to have to sell this beauty but i cannot afford to buy another guitar until i get rid of one, it would not be proper! The Fender '62 Reissue Jaguar electric guitar is a classic Japanese made re-issue of the 1962 Jaguar model. The guitar features include twin single coil pickups, tremolo system, multiple switching options. The Fender Jaguar also features a rosewood fingerboard, maple neck and dot markers. I have done some repairs on this guitar, as it is quite old (about 9 years) particularly, replacing the volume pots, also i have had this guitar professionally set up recently so it plays amazingly. The guitar is in next to perfect condition, with one little dink on the headstock that is so small, it won't show up in a photo. Also comes with a hardcase. 400 ONO, please PM me. cheers Derek
  17. i have not had a single girl fancy me at a gig, maybe im pish at drums.. im kind of a frustrated guitarist, i guess the best advice is to keep playing, and practicing exercises over and over again, unfortunately its the only way to become really good, if you keep it up, soon you'll be tuning by ear and figuring out songs in no time
  18. ta' very much for all the advice guys
  19. Thinking about buying a new acoustic guitar just wanting some suggestions to which ones i could look further into (for value for money, sound, etc) Before i was thinking about a freshman or a seagull, I can spend up to 500 quid. cheers
  20. i have oracle of ages lying around, pretty sure i've got the box, got the manual anyhoo, interested?
