ok maybe im exagerating, but by "risks" i mean: we've showed up to gigs to find them overbooked, and been sent home, or been told there was equipment there and there actually wasn't, been told to bring equipment which wasn't actually needed which resulted in unnessicery transport arrangements. many things like that, and it didn't really matter too much because we only live about 10 miles out of town, but what if things like that happened in other cities, it would be such a waste of time and money. it's not about the lack of "intellegence" its because of the lack of organisation on these booking companies behalfs. don't get me wrong im well aware that proffesional promoters cock up, and the odd slip up, but in my experience (little i know) have been able to sort it out before the gig without much hassle. i guess i just find it a bit frustrating that aberdeen is active in seeking bands from other areas, whereas other cities seem to be more fixated on on local bands.
