  1. I go to Slain's pretty much every Wednesday. Our team name is pretty dull, but the quiz is good fun. I dunno what the prizes are like, but yeah, it's enjoyable. I like the topical names. On the week of "Sachsgate", there was a team called 'Russell Brand Had Sex With My Granddaughter' and another called 'So Did Jonathan Ross'. 'Tell Me, Do You Like The Music Of Shawaddywaddy?' was my favourite name of last night.
  2. Waheeeey, that's my shop's cctv footage - WINN-AR! Sadly, I wasn't working that day. I'll check the system the next time I'm in though to see the last time we sold a copy of "Raping For Dummies"...

    Comedians

Yeah, it's hard to be shocked by most comedians these days. Stick with people like David O'Doherty. He's not controversial, just genuinely funny. Ohh and Ed Byrne was on good form tonight.
  4. People who don't understand simple bus etiquette. Saw a woman the other day who got on before people had the chance to get off and then proceeded to take up two seats by sitting on the aisle one. For shame!

    Comedians

Ooh shit, it's tonight. Ha! Nearly forgot and made other plans.
  6. Spent Friday night re-watching Knowing Me Knowing You (and ...Yule) "Er... could someone clear that shit away please? It's just it's in my vision... People may associate it with me."

But, boy, does he get angered by the improper use of "ironic"!

    Ed Byrne on Tuesday anyone?
  9. I did a few shifts with the AECC. You pick and choose whenever you work and the pay is decent enough. Just make sure your first shift with them isn't something as huge as the Oil Baron's Ball. 5.30pm-12am running around after oil industry big-wigs (never used that phrase before in my life) without a break, then not finishing 'til about 3am. Ouch.
  10. I think the Tough Brets episode is my new favourite.
  11. Haha, I did think that if you were her, you weren't doing a brilliant job of disguising your true identity
  12. Where do you work and are there any vacancies? I'm not a big fan of the cover, but I'm enjoying the picture from the I'm Throwing My Arms Around Paris single I'm not big on This Charming Man without the jangliness, but I suppose he's just saying that he's moved on a bit...
  13. Excellent album. Stole it off my dad who had a review copy so have had it for a few weeks, but am gonna go out and buy the cd+dvd version soon. I keep changing favourites... I think It's Not Your Birthday Anymore is probably it at the moment though. The only thing is, why is the start of Black Cloud really the Bill theme tune?
  14. I read that as Seor Stylish at first and thought that was the fantastic name of one of the staff. Quite disappointed that he probably doesn't exist.

Apparently the BBC effed around too much and wanted to tone down the whole thing, so Gatiss wasn't too happy and it's not going ahead any more. Damn. I woulda liked a part in that show... But mmm... Master and Margarita. Didn't know there was a graphic novel.
  16. I've not watched a film since Friday and that was the Happening. My new favourite unintentionally hilarious film. The line "Why ya eyein' ma lemon drink..?" was said. A highlight. www.badmovieclub.co.uk

Finished the Devil In Amber and Black Butterfly. Both thoroughly enjoyable. Now not sure where to start on my still-to-read list... Danny Wallace's 'Friends Like These' possibly.
  18. ...I don't understand what just happened.
  19. Morrissey's on the show tomorrow. I await with great anticipation. New album's excellent. Heard him on Radio 2 last night and he's sounding curiously chipper these days...
  20. I saw those a few days ago. Safe to say, my ovaries nearly exploded. ...you heard.

    Your current read?

Indeed! And it's on 3 for 2 in Waterstone's, so you'd be getting four books for the price of two God, I'm good at promotions As far as I'm aware, there's only a graphic novel of the Vesuvius Club and Mark said that they'd only do the other two if the fans wanted them 'cos the graphic novel of VC didn't sell brilliantly.

Aww, that's a brilliant photo! I was there alone (this seems to be a recurring theme of my posts recently ) or else I woulda got someone else to get a photo of me and him. I missed Crooked House! My freeview signal's been crap since the start of January, so could never watch it THEN my computer had a nervous breakdown so I couldn't even watch on iPlayer... Must youtube it! Thanks for the reminder. Yeah, they're all novels. The Vesuvius Club, The Devil In Amber and Black Butterfly. Been reading some more. I think I'm preferring The Devil In Amber to the Vesuvius Club.
  23. Thanks, guy! Was Robin Ince though. He said it at the Lemon Tree where I was by myself enjoying a drink

I've made it a life mission to give the Fry a hug one day! I was at the signing too! He spelt my name wrong in my book though. Doh. I also got him to sign a book for my sister after telling him that she thinks Kitty Backlash is the greatest name for a character ever and she wants to call her daughter that He wrote "Go for Kitty!" in her's. Very lovely man! I'd advise going back to the Vesuvius Club. It was pretty good, but I can't help but feel it might not have been published if it wasn't written by him... The Devil In Amber is fantastic so far though. I think I'm a bit in love with Lucifer Box. Damn fictional bisexual spies!
