  1. Went to see the Boat That Rocked yesterday, mainly because of the fantastic cast. Really enjoyed it. Bill Nighy's a hero.
  2. Slain's appears to have started serving good food again! I remember I never really used to enjoy eating in there much, but went in yesterday lunchtime and it was lovely. And relatively cheap too. Go for the chicken goujons.
  3. I quietly enjoyed this: Bloggerheads (UK) - Paula Murray, drunken hack, mocks dead and makes light of underage drinking (but don't tell anyone, I'll lose "dignified disgust" points.)

I just giggled at this as I heard it in his voice. Genius. I am gonna go out on a limb here and ask if the Snafu night was pish due to the Reverend being there?
  5. Ha! So did a lot of my friends, apparently. He sent that out and I got about 12 texts all just saying "What the hell have you done?!"
  6. This man invited me out for a drink yesterday in Glasgow. I accepted. Then followed the greatest two hours of my life. Actual hero/Favourite person ever/GAAAAH! Sorry, as you were, I just had to type frantically. The man co-created Father Ted ferchristssake.

Have you seen him before? Here, people seem pretty reserved when he plays, but I've heard some stories about people getting pissed off at others heckling him. I bought a ticket for me, my mum and dad because I am a lovely daughter. Think we're in row G. Was anyone at Rob Brydon on Tuesday? I wasn't sure what to expect seeing as it's the first time he's done stand-up as himself, but I really enjoyed it. He looked like he was loving it too.
  8. If you're getting desperate or are willing to go alone, I've got one ticket for Row D spare.
  9. Supposed to be going to see it today. I'll let you know if I do. I'm a bit excited, but also a bit nervous in case it's rubbish.
  10. I made a thread about this a while ago, but it appears to have effed off. Anyway, I've got one ticket for sale for Rob Brydon next Tuesday, four rows from the front. Plan was originally that I was going alone, then I found out my friend was going and had a spare, so am taking her's seeing as the person she was supposed to be going with has bailed. Face value, of course. Gimme a PM if you're interested. He's really rather amusing.

    o_O Oh dear god.
  12. Forgot Jonathan Richman. He's a more recent addition though.

I refused to like him for about two years because he inexplicably irritated me. A friend forced me into watching his dvd at Christmas time. I laughed quite a bit at it and have since admitted that "he's okay..." According to his wikipedia..: His Canadian father, Ray Cameron, was the producer, writer and director of The Kenny Everett Television Show and his part-Hungarian mother, Kati, was a dancer. McIntyre's parents divorced when he was seven, after which his father remarried and moved to Los Angeles. His father died of a heart attack when McIntyre was 17.
  14. Am planning an amazing week in April, but somehow don't think it'll happen. Bought a ticket to see Matt Berry in London and am buying one tomorrow to see Stephen Fry host I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue. I cannot afford these things, but going would make me happy! I are nerd.
  15. Aww, that sucks, he was lovely when we met him. I miss being little and being at Pittodrie open days
  16. Oh yeah! He was ace. As were Stavrum and Zero.
  17. Ohh, truth. Every time I see him on tv I make a mental note to buy all of his dvds... I still own none... One day, one day...
  18. Apologies if there's already a thread on this. Who are your ultimate heroes/idols/people you'd kill to meet/people you'd possibly have to dig up in order to shake hands with? I always claim people are my heroes, but that's mainly bullshit. They're probably just people I fancy at the time. These are the people who I genuinely admire the most and have done for as long as I can remember... (complete with links to Wikipedia, for I am that sophisticated...) -Graham Linehan -Stephen Fry -Charlie Brooker -Chris Morris -Jarvis Cocker -Morrissey (...sort of begrudgingly.) -Johnny Thunders This is the part where I click 'submit' then realise I've missed out someone vital and so I begin to question whether or not I do actually like them as much as I thought...
  19. Indeed. It's the "Monster Quiz" this Wednesday what with it being the first one of the month. Apparently this means bigger prizes, but we've never won so can't really tell!
  20. Mainly musicians that nobody seems to know or care about. Geoff Travis though, that was pretty cool. And was ridiculously close to meeting Jarvis Cocker that it hurts a bit. I'll shake him by the hand one day... The odd comedian too. Ross Noble was fantastic, he spoke to me and my friend for a good 20 minutes, but this was the last time he was in Aberdeen in 2005, so we were convinced we'd scared him off seeing as he's waited almost 4yrs to return. My comedy hero, Matt Berry, I've met twice and both times I've left looking like a prick after demanding awkward hugs off him. Various members of the Boosh, Peter Serafinowicz, Russell Howard, David O'Doherty... Uh.... can't think of anyone else. Got pictures with most of them though, but don't want to put you through having to look at my stupid face. OH! Nearly forgot. Derren bloody Brown! Ha! Dunno if he'd come under "musician" or "comedian" though but... True story.

I'd been worrying that I wouldn't enjoy it as I'd first thought due to watching the dvd a week before and not laughing much. But yeah, far better. I'd buy a dvd of this tour possibly before buying WAGs workout... We were lucky as we presumed it'd mean doors open 8pm as well but just so happened to be wandering past early and saw people going in.

I spent my whole evening yesterday watching the Modest Adventures of David O'Doherty on youtube. I suggest you do the same. Here's my favourite Episode 3 Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 His CV is probably one of the best I've seen... and he's pretty sweet on the ol' interview front...

    Your current read?

Finished Danny Wallace's 'Friends Like These' and so am going back to James Boswell's London Diaries (1762-63) for some much needed pervy auld fella memoirs.
  24. I dunno though, can you be intermediate if you get sent to jail for it?
