  1. I uninstalled LoL (again), rage quit my last match, er, lol. Dota is much better IMO; I've got probably more games on that now and there's been far fewer arseholes.
  2. Got her on my team too, I'm pretty sure. Happy for her, I really am...
  3. I think I want one too. Hard to find fast and modern, but stripped down, ergonomics with old-school woods. I'd probably change the pick-ups though. Its a Charvel San Dimas Style 1, HS HT (humbucker-single, hardtail; there are others with trems and more pups); I had to do a bit of googling.

    Your current read?

Catch-22, when I read it years ago, didn't really grab me either; that's pretty much how I'd have put it. I liked the ideas behind it but it just wasn't that engaging, and didn't feel like it needed such a doorstep of a book to make the point.
  5. It is inherently anti-gay. Democracy is no guarantee against, or excuse for, the oppression of minorities. Interesting leaps of logic there. I'm sure everyone will understand if I just say I'm inclined not to support him because he seems like an odious cunt .
  6. It's long enough for him to have changed his mind; he may or may not have. Even if he has, I would still hold the fact that he was actively anti-gay as few as six years ago against him. I think being anti-gay is unambiguously wrong, personally, and I wouldn't, personally and if I could easily avoid it, support anyone who is.
  7. Maybe. I'd still be inclined to hold it against him, though, tbh.
  8. 6 years ago isn't a long time, and I think making a payment to an anti-gay campaign is pretty unambiguous.
  9. Just as well I don't drive Pretty much, as I said above. There's also the fact, as Ca_gere said, he's the current head employee and public face of Mozilla whereas whether and how much money he is making and has made from JavaScript (not Java, actually) is more muddy. Basically I regard same-sex marriage opposition as bigotry in the same vein as racism, pro-racial segregation, and similar, and think one should not be surprised to see similar reactions. Half of Mozilla's board resigned at his appointment, and his own employees have been calling for him to step down; that is not mundane at all.
  10. I was thinking about just using Firefox with an Ubuntu reinstall I'm about to do; I won't use it now. Not a massive deal but enough to put me off using something for which there are free, near identical alternatives.
  11. I'm not playing it (yet), but have been intrigued. Cool to see an online, multi-player action game that isn't competitive/e-sports based and more arty/sociological (for want of better words).
  12. The no-make-up-selfie thing was pretty depressing (srsly? it's a big deal to not wear make-up? That's not indeed the default?) but did indeed appear to work...
  13. I'll possibly try it at some point. The thing with dozen-a-side FPS games is that if you're doing badly you don't stand out so much.
  14. Finally played Civ 5 tonight after installing it months ago. Several hours later I've conquered a continent and remembered how addictive the series is...
  15. bi? ga?y x??ng, eh? nasty. Also watched most of the United-Caley game, but it was 2-0 already when I tuned in. Definitely think Aberdeen are going to win the other cup.
  16. Yeah, and a lot probably depends on the weapons customs, which are supposedly its main selling point. I actually just don't care much for RPG-style gear upgrades/unlocks in shooter games (which of course became part of TF2 at some point) at all. Should probably have put this in the what-game-are-you-playing thread, oh well..
  17. Spent about an afternoon dabbling in it, and think it's all right but probably not good enough to stand out among other shooters/F2P/multiplayer games, for my money (oh yes, F2P; time then, which is only slightly less scarce in my case). One of the positive reviews on Steam noted it's a throwback to old-skool arena (Doom/Quake/Unreal etc.) games and an antidote to "too serious" military/tactical shooters (COD/BF and whatever else) which are more popular these days. The engine does have a strong old Quake feel (and feels a bit dated and/or cheap, it being a free indie game perhaps) crossed with GOW-style perspective/controls and TF2 aesthetics (and, suspiciously enough, Loaded). I don't see why anyone would take this over TF2 basically, which was my last shooter of choice.
  18. Reminds me of Bumblefoot (see also the Buckethead/Primus thread), or a more contemporary Zappa in rock/pop mode, but more extreme contrasts in the one song; and probably less technical/esoteric and more of a clusterfuck of every popular style possible. As above, more coherent and entertaining than i thought it would be.
  19. I'm trying loadout now. Jury's out.
  20. Should've just gone for "not my cup of tea, but well played chaps".
