  1. I tend to think she looks a tad unwell in the later pic.
  2. You ain't kidding! 8o How she used to look: http://www.swr3.de/musik/cdtipps/winehouse_amy/pix/amy2_gross.jpg
  3. A pal took a seasonal job in a shop that sold poles last year & the kids didn't bother him. Rather, it was the 20 to 30-0dd stone wifies who were determined to do a demo for their partners on the poles in-shop. Bleurgh! He seldom had the heart to tell them that the demo poles had somewhat better structural reinforcement than the bracket supplied in the sale item! As for poledancing kids. There was a wee lassie giving quite a good show on a Holburn St lamppost the other weekend.
  4. I remember now! - This is one of the places that gave me pretty-extreme shit for trying to buy a soft drink at the bar once so I've never gone back-in.
  5. Not entirely convinced. Some of the stuff seems a thinly-veiled excuse to push a racist/discriminatory agenda without getting rightly roasted for it. Whilst on a lower level, most of the PC-gawn-mad stories that the tabloid press seem to love so much actually turn out to be complete balderdash or something else entirely, reported right out of context.
  6. I think it had a full renovation a year or so ago. So it is probably OK now. Before then, it did indeed look a bit ropey.
  7. Bon Accord Windows are amongst the very worst for doing this & for ignoring clear instructions to desist. I once gave my councillor one hell of an ear-bashing when I read the council were funding them via some "training" initative. Funnilly enough, the calls tailed-off after that. Just having a couple of my windows replaced as well. Everest proved the best of the bunch this time. I had a few other quotes to throw at them & they rose to it. Last time I had anything to do with AC Yule (apart from one of their secretaries but that is another story ) they turned into a bunch of rip-off c*nts who tried to hack-up the price by about half after they quoted & magiked a "compulsory insurance" charge out of nowhere on the final invoice too. Never again!
  8. Ah-ha! So you are one of those daft sods who pootles-about with a brolly in these lattitudes! Any idea just how many times I've been hit square-on by or had to dive out of the way of one as it hurtles along at speed, whilst getting reduced to a bunch of flying shards of metal by the wind, because someone lacks the strength/bodymass/sense to keep their hand through the strap to keep bloody thing under control. Get a proper hat, that you can tie on to your head! Sorry, just had a bad brollying in town at lunchtime!
  9. The last pelican I had anything to do with here was a right fussy eater! We were told it needed a highly specialist diet that it couldn't get here & it certainly didn't take to all the sardines that the public were hurling at its beak. Maybe we should have just bombarded it with flying rats instead?
  10. Know it is wrong, on so many levels, but:
  11. I'd just be happy to have the hair!
  12. Shop around throughly & don't assume the discount names are always the cheapest. Especially if your prescription is anything out of the ordinary. For my current pair of specs & lenses, the prices ranged from around £200 ay Gibsons opposite HMT to £560 from Specsavers - Same frames, lenses but Specsavers could only do one of the two coatings I prefer. The rest of about half a dozen firms were in-between.
  13. Marks & spencer are doing a pretty decent pair of black straight-leg jeans in their Blue Harbour bit on the top floor. Decent, solid & cheap - £9.50 a pair. I've had a pair for a few months & got another pair on Saturday.
  14. I don't know Musa. Can you tell me where it is?
  15. Oh no! Still, I have fond memories of bwing utterly minced at a Genesis concert many years back & actually quite enjoying it. :O
  16. Why buy, Wilkinson are giving them away free just now. http://www.quattrotitanium.co.uk/ I got one last week - its a nifty razor.
  17. Because sometimes, what the official on the phone will tell you is quite different from what the folk on the desks are actually applying on the day. It can be better to hear from those who might have travelled recently. Got caught more than a few times with this when arranging the import of strange things for work!
  18. Yes. There have not been so many in recent years but over the years, Union Bridge has been one of the main ones in the city. I'm pretty certain I remember just such a proposal after a particularly high number of jumps, some years back. Again, I'm pretty certain that has happened several times but I think I can remember the particular one you are on about, didn't the EE do a big ongoing feature on him & his quite horrific multiple injuries/physical rehabilitation. A sort of "warning" to others?
  19. Bloody hell! I saw a crowd of folk peering over the parapet of Union Bridge from the terrace of Vodka Bar this afternoon. I was probably not in there till after he jumped but whole thing must have still been going on.
  20. To make things worse, at the same time, the Sun was running an outrage about muslim strife in "Riot-torn Windsor!" http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2-2006460631,00.html Aggree, the amount of people spouting support/giving creedence to the BNP is seriously worrying.
