  1. If it's only clicking with condenser mics I'd be thinking it's a phantom power issue somewhere along the line (although I've no idea why it'd only happen after 30 mins of use?). If you've tried different cables then I'd try to get hold of another condenser mic to rule that as being the sly offender. If you've got a passive DI box (with an "on" light) you could use that to check for any flickering action too.
  2. Cheers dude. It's also handy at gigs for busting folk who use your stuff without asking.
  3. Here's a link to gumtree with photos. http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/marshall-dsl-100/100330794 I may also be open to trades if anyones got some cool stuff kicking about.
  4. To be honest I would know where to start with an offer for the mkII. A quick Google search also proved to be about as much use as a nuns tits. :-(
  5. I have for sale my Marshall DSL 100 head. It's a great sounding amp but just doesn't really fit the sort of music I'm playing at the moment. It is in great condition and has been totally reliable. The only problem I've had with it was the red light of the power switch dying (I've since fitted a swanky new blue one). Going rate for these on eBay seem to be around £400 so offers around that mark would be nice. I practice at Toms most weeks too so can easily arrange a try out. Thanks Runcie
  6. £240 is indeed a bargain. I've been watching a lot of "Wheeler Dealers' on the Discovery channel lately and figured it'd be worth a sly punt. I do need something a bit more "chuck in a car-able" than my big ass Marshall though, so I think I'll take it off your hands. PM sent.
  7. Feel a wee bit cheeky but would you take £200 for it? I may fancy something a bit more jangly.
  8. What sort of price have you in mind for the Marshall mkII and the AC30?
  9. I have a DSL 100 and a 1960BV 4x12 I could be tempted to sell for the right price. Heads seem to go for around £400 on eBay and the cab goes for £650 new. I'd sell them both for £700 ono.
  10. Hey Sandy. Any chance you could fire up some pics. I'm in the market for a new mixing desk and have read nowt but good things about the Ghosts.
  11. I've got a line 6 UX1 that I used for around 6 years. I used it to record some rough Marionettes demos in my bedroom and for just slinging some ideas out to pals. They're really good for the price (although some of the gearbox sounds are a bit shite). Mines given up on life now but I'd highly recommend them. Saying that I bought a Yamaha THR5 last month to replace the old line 6 and it's really great. It's a wee guitar amp/audio interface/iPod dock and only cost like £179. http://usa.yamaha.com/products/musical-instruments/guitars-basses/amps/thr/thr5/
  12. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/130642651470?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649#ht_500wt_966 It's still covered under Applecare and is a great wee machine. I'd prefer to sell locally (as always) so if anyone's in the market for such a device give me a shout at runcie@me.com.
  13. I'll take the 828 off your hands. Payday's tomorrow so can pick it up anytime after then.
  14. The Johnny Marr Jag is stunning. It's gonna cost the best part of £2000 though which is a shame. Still pretty tempted though. http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/product/60089-fender-johnny-marr-signature-jaguar-electric-guitar-olympic-white.html#sterling_uk
  15. After a total dick messed me around on eBay I've now got 2 tickets for Katy P at the AECC for sale. I'll sell them both for £60. Email me at runcie@me.com if you're interested.
  16. I'd be up for a bit of punk guitar action. Unfortunately I can't sing for toffee though. Give me a shout if you think I could be of any use. It'd be affa good to mak a racket wee ya again Jeff.
  17. He played a les paul on "Money for nothing" I believe.
  18. I've got for sale my Macbook Pro 13.3" mid 2010 with 8GB RAM and Applecare coverage until the 7th of June 2013. It's a great machine and has been well looked after for the last year. I still have the box, installation DVD's etc and I will ship it with a fresh install of Lion (10.7) and iLife 11. This cost me around £1500 when I bought it last year. Any questions please get in touch.
  19. Man I'm really tempted. 400 your best price aye??
  20. Is the JCM2000 a Dual Super Lead or a Triple Super Lead? I may take a punt if it's the 2 channel version.
  21. Just waiting to see how the pay situation's looking like tomorrow. If all goes well I'll give you a shout.
  22. If you've got a good idea of the fundamentals, I think your best bet's to have a look at schematics for different amps online and try to get your head round them. They all follow a similar design (pre-amp, EQ, power-amp & power supply) so if you can grab enough schematics you can compare how the big guys go about designing the different sections and it should all click in to place. Building an amp from a kit seems like a pretty good way to learn more about how amps work so might be worth considering (plus you know how much you'll be spending). I decided to grab schematics for an SLO and try to make one from that. I've found ordering and waiting for parts the most frustrating part of it, and it's going to end up costing a fair whack cause I've used pretty good parts. In the end though, it will hopefully sound good and I've a much better understanding of how the things work now. It's all good fun.
  23. You've clearly been lucky in the TV department my friend!!!
