  1. Well this didn't sell so any offers welcome....
  2. Only 8 hours to go. Grab yourself a bargain!!
  3. Yeah man it's still for sale. The eBay listing ends in like 8 hours or so. Had a few messages but I dunno how it'll pan out.
  4. You need a guitar amp first bucko!!!
  5. Just popped this on eBay. Ramsa WR-S4416 16 channel, 4 bus mixing desk on eBay (end time 25-Jul-10 21:27:01 BST)
  6. Now up on the ol eBay. Whoop. Marshall TSL60 halfstack (with 1960BV cab) on eBay (end time 25-Jul-10 20:30:07 BST)
  7. From my understanding you can happily fit nickel strings to an electro acoustic that has phosphor bronze strings already on it and not have any tension change related issues. Nickel strings should give a brighter tone and may sacrifice a bit of body and warmth compared to the phosphor bronze ones but fire them on and see what you prefer. I totally agree that a stereo mic'd acoustic sounds better than an electro acoustic jacked straight in, but in a live situation plugging straight in is a lot more convenient. I've also found in most cases you can milk a bit more volume from a built in mic than you can with a condensor without having to brutally rape the EQ to avoid feedback. An electro acoustic gives you the best of both worlds and some of them can sound shit hot. Depends if you need to use it live or not i guess.
  8. I've got a JB in my SG's bridge (although not a single coil) and it's awesome. The difference when I swapped it from the standard Gibbo one was pretty nuts. I'd recommend the JB fo sho!!
  9. What would you go for out of the 3 Jon??? I'm thinking Vox, but the Blackstar looks ace and reviews for it are shit hot.
  10. Anyone downloaded Tony Hawks 2 for the iPhone. It's awesome! Best 3 I've spent in a long time.
  11. Cheers for the replies guys. I'm off to Glasgow tomorrow so I'm gonna have a nose around and see what suits me. Anyone had reliability issues with Vox stuff? I know what the internet's like and it's probably just a few isolated incidents being blown out of proportion but there's a few folk saying Vox stuff's a bit dodgey.
  12. I'm selling my Marshall TSL halfstack because it ways a a tonne and isn't giving me the sound I'm after. I'm after a combo for around 700. Any thoughts or recommendations?? I'm gonna try them out beforehand (if any shops in Aberdeen or Dundee stock them) but if anyone has any 1st hand experience with any of these your opinions would be much appreciated. Thanks. Runcie
  13. I'm gonna buy the paper, rip the cd and chuck it up on piratebay to piss the wee dwarf off. Prince is a dick, running around on a motorbike hitting lassies square in the chops left right and centre. Your nae cool you midget prick!!
  14. MINE!!!! I lost my copies years ago and fucking loved Polythene. Twas the 1st album I listened to when I passed my driving test!
  15. I heard today that Asda are selling guitar strings for 50p a packet. I had a jaunty over to Garthdee tonight but I couldn't find them. Has anyone managed to pick up a pack? Are they totally bollocks? Let me know cos I'm an affa cheap fucko. Cheers!!
  16. Totally. It'd be like car insurers not paying out if you hit an oil patch and spin off the road. Not being provided with storage is out with your control as a musician playing unknown venues. It's obviously not an ideal situation (like hitting an oil patch and wrecking your car) but people take out insurance to cover against such misfortune and pay handsomely for it. The Musicguard home page says it covers against loss, theft and damage. If gear is kept in a locked cupboard or secure car how can it be possibly be lost? Surely it can only be stolen?? Sorry to rant on but these guys pissed me off severely.
  17. Yeah I insured all my gear with musicguard and wouldn't recommend them at all. I left a bag full of effects pedals in Montrose and it got half inched by the time I called to check the next day. Musicguard wouldn't pay out cause it wasn't kept in a secure locked cupboard. I mean how many venues offer locked storage facilities for bands!! I pay like 180 for this a year and it's shite. The people on the other end of the phone couldn't give a fuck either, they were just looking for reasons not to pay out. Chuck it on your home insurance and save some money.
  18. This retails at 234 and is totally unused. Bargain City!!!!!
  19. The 2 of these are going up on eBay soon. Looking for 350 for the head and 250 for the cab. The 2 retail new at 1250 so grab yourself a "less than half price" bargain!!
  20. I may be tempted to sell my Marshall 1960BV cab. It sounds ace, has Celestion Vintage speakers, but doesn't have the castor wheels. Pretty good condition but has a slight rip in the tolex at the top. Going for 531 on GAK so I'd be looking for 250 for it. Anyone fancy it?
  21. One of the macbook air's in the Apple store has a SSD in it, and the difference in speed between that and the normal one next to it is pretty significant. Come past and check it out.
  22. The SSL and Protools HD is totally industry standard!! They've got awesome mics too (414's, beta91s etc). You could make shit hot recordings in that studio. It was just a shame when I did the course I couldn't get hold of any shit hot bands.
  23. Totally. For under the bridge (first chord) I'd tend to use my thumb on the A string, then index on D, middle on G and last one on the B. Just do whats comfy. That first chords a right dick to fret though.
