  1. Man I wanted one of them when I was like 18 and they were a lot cheaper. They're cracking guitars. Just out of curiosity if you were to sell, how much would you be looking for?
  2. Here's a wee list of places I've ordered parts from. www.uk.mouser.com - (Most electronic parts like caps, resistors, pots, etc) www.c3amps - (Power transformers, Choke and Output transformers) Tube amp parts, Guitar Tube amplifier building supplies, Tube amp Information, Guitar amp parts - (Large Caps for power supply board) Onlineshop Startseite - (Valve mounts, LDRs, LEDs and some cabinet hardware) Weber Speakers - Making the world a bit louder each day. - (Chassis) Tubeampdoctor's in Germany and the guy who runs it seems really nice. Most of the parts I reckon could be ordered their. Some decent looking transformers too. I've been having a bit of a nightmare trying to source resistors and capacitors in the UK. Most people want to just reels of like 1000. Maplin seems a little bit dry on these too (or perhaps I'm just not looking hard enough). Any ideas of a Mouser.com type alternative that ships from the UK??
  3. Yeah he mentioned he was going to start a build when I bought his Hotrod Deluxe a while back. That Torres site looks cool. If all pans out well with the SLO I may give an AC30 copy a bash afterwards. I've just blown 350 on Onetics transformers so just waiting patiently for everything to arrive now. Affa excited!
  4. Just wondering if anyone on here has ever built a guitar amp from scratch before? Part out of boredom and part out of wanting a beast of a guitar amp for cheap (or so I thought!) I've decided to build a Soldano SLO copy. Having worked with electronics in the past it looks like a doable task, but if anyone has any advice before I fly in amongst it it'd be much appreciated. I'm gonna fire up a blog when all the parts arrive to try and get advice as the build progresses. Should be good fun!!
  5. Ach pipped at the post.
  6. Just out of curiosity did you ever get that ibanez sold??
  7. I sold an Orange Rocker 30 head and sent it down south a few months ago. I boxed it and packed it to high hilt, insured it and it got down the road fine. I think shipping and insurance came to like 40 with DHL. I'd be a bit iffy doing it out with eBay though in case the guy was a dodger, although I think eBay charges were about 40 too. By the time you add it all up you get pretty raped by the whole process from my experience.
  8. I had an Orange Thunder 30 too and didn't care too much for it. After having it for a week it decided to just die at a practice which was a bit concerning. The clean headroom was incredibly poor, but the overdrive was amazing through a 4x12. Best amp I think I've had so far was my Fender Hotrod deluxe. That thing was loud for a 1x12, seemed totally solid and much more "involved" than my Marshall TSL60. Reverb was shite though. If I were you I'd stay clear of Bugera. Having used Behringer stuff a fair amount it's generally alright for a wee while but will inevitably fuck up at the most inconvenient of times. I'd rather have a simple decent sounding amp than an all singing bells n whistles beast made of tinfoil and paper mache. I'd get another Hotrod in a minute, although I'm thinking of building a Soldano SLO copy so will need to fire some funds into that. Mine how expensive transformers are!!
  9. Man if that was a crystal skull head I'd be all over it. Mystical!!!
  10. Man up Jeff, you could fire in amongst that nae bother! 100's is nae too shabby!
  11. For sale is my Marshall 1960BV 4x12. It's in good condition but missing the castors off the bottom. Sounds really good, I just have no use for it anymore as I bought a decent 2x12 off ab-music not too long ago. These retail for for 555 and taking into account the missing castors I'd be looking for around 300 ono for it. Marshall 1960BV Guitar Speaker Cabinet | DV247
  12. Totally not my thing but by jesus fuck that sounds immense! You guys are all insanely good and should be affa proud.
  13. Nothing much in terms of studio gear I'm afraid, will probably look into thinning out my pedal board in the near future though. A nasty break in a few months ago wiped out my mic collection which sucked balls. I've got an Apple Cinema Display up on eBay too. Selling on behalf of a friend, and would look affa nice in a studio. :-) Apple 24" Cinema Display on eBay (end time 20-Mar-11 19:40:28 GMT)

  18. Apple iPod classic 6th Generation Black (120 GB) on eBay (end time 20-Mar-11 19:42:38 GMT) I chucked it on eBay but if anyone from here fancies it for 100, give me a shout.
  19. Anyone wanna buy an Xbox 360 4gb? I've played it about twice since I bought it a couple of months ago and the things just taking up space. Comes with 1 controller, GTA, Alan Wake and Halo Reach. Give me a shout if you or anyone you know may be keen. Looking for about 160 ono.
  20. 60??? Fuck it, I'll take it off your hands!!
  21. I used to have a boss HM-2 which was heavy and sounded fucking ace through my Marshall. It's the old version of a Metal Zone but I much prefer it. You can get them pretty cheap off eBay too.
  22. I'm pretty tempted to get one of these. Fender Products I really should pay off my overdraught but hey, it's one damn sexy guitar.
  23. Man I'll take that distortion plus off you for 30! Paydays next Friday!!
