I've got anolder one (late 90's early 00's?). I like it. The strat style shaping at the back is nice for a fat bastard like me, fits nicer. I got it second hand though. It has Lace Sensor pick ups which are a bit of an aquired taste. I had a look/play of one of the new ones (in Bruce Millers) a while back. I liked the sunburst and the Noiseless/S1 switching sounded great but wasn't sure about the neck, didn't 'feel' that great to me. Plus I thought the headstock looked a bit 'cheap'. Oh and they are a bit pricey too. Don't know if they are twice as good as a US standard. I still fancy one of those QMT twin humbucker ones though!

Decade covers a lot of bases but hand on heart I'd probably have to go for 'Tonights The Night'.

Locust Abortion Technican my favourite by far (yup, 22 going 23 especially). Not heard it for years but I also remember liking Rembrandt Pussyhorse as well. Never really got into Hairway or anything else afterwards. I kinda went off the Buttholes after hearing the tales from Blast First staff about their 'antics' to try and get more money. Not big or clever (wooh, freudian slip I typed 'cleaver' first. Wrong coz I heard it was a hammer!)

To be honest I'm not quite sure what RF is on about re. GPM. Sure they are different (no point in releasing the same thing twice). It made me go back and pick up a couple Palace albums I didn't have to make an original GPM cd. But in re-reading the post I would have to admit that I should have started off with the BPB album to start with is 'I See A Darkness', no doubt about it. And if I recall 1-Up has it on special offer at the moment. The Palace stuff is different from BPB. Seems to me that in adopting the new persona he threw off his inhibitions and allowed himself just to be. His vocals seems to have 'improved ' immeasurably since.

Err' date=' not quite! I always recommend that Blue Lotus Feet (as you know) and Greatest Palace Music. I'll admit I do have a hell of a lot of the early Palace stuff. I even have the continental op Slitch Music dvd/cd thang! Viva Lost Blues is probably the best but Lost Blues, Joya and Arise Therefore also worth checking out. Must admit only watched it the other week coz we are Buffy geeks and it had Giles on it. I was actually impressed that it was as good. Watched another couple of episodes since and yeah I like it. Nice to see it updated so well...

Nope. If you are trying to be something that is out of time (i.e. a Ted in the 70's or a punk nowadays) then I find that a bit sad. Who said anything about liking any music being acceptable or not? Stop looking for a fight where it's not.

I can't believe people are still arguing about what punk means. Christ it was dead and buried years ago (I mean Selfridges are having the 30th aniversary FFS). I can recall laughing at all the sad people still into rock'n'roll. Turned out they were only 20 years behind the times, unlike today's 'punks'. Surely they can see the irony of it all. Now don't get me wrong punk was probably the pivotal point in my life (I was young and impressionable...) and has shaped what I have become (for better or worse). But lists, puhlease.

Oh man it was fantastic. It was much better than I dared hope for. It could so easily have all gone soooo wrong. I think that the female vocals reigned him in a bit (especially on Wolf Among Wolfs) as he tends to get a bit loose live with the guys. It was sweet! Yeah Molly Bawn was certainly a highlight for me. Thought I See A Darkness and I Live By the Sea were also phenomenal. I was just gutted he only played a short set. Total respect for Harem Scarem though. They are not my bag but they did themselves and Will proud last night. Serously considering trying to catch another gig on the tour now. Nice touch bringing his own drummer/percussionist though (Pete Townsend?). I think he was instrumental in holding it all down. Liked the bowing of the cymbals. Last thanks to my old school mate Steve for getting a damn fine spot to observe it all from.

Hows about: Merle Haggard ('cept he is uber cool to me) Micheal Nesmith Sister Sledge (I love Sister Sledge) Problem is that everything I listen to is cool to me. Who cares what anybody else thinks? Oh yeah (Alan Cynic) Slade were the coolest band in '73 (or at least to me...). Still love that violin on that one they use(d) on the Transit Van ads...
