  1. I'll not pass comment of Takk as I can't stand the buggers. Saw them support Godspeed a while back (zzzzzzzzzzzz). However my albums of the year? Summer in the Southeast - Bonnie 'Prince' Billy (like lepeep says Blood Embrace is brilliant but some so so stuff also). Obviously. Illinois - Sufjan Stevens The Lark Descending - Chris Woods (a bit too much filler but Lord Bateman and John Barleycorn are the cats tits). No Earthly Man - Alasdair Roberts Also, much as I love (smog) I found 'A river...' unsatisfying (apart from The Well). Not this year but Stephen Scott's 'New Music for the bowed Piano' (with the Colorado College New Music Ensemble) is pretty damn good (for 1994 - Thanks to Late Junction)
  2. Don't know if it'll sell out as not sure how big a 'following' Will Oldham has. By rights it should do though. I've been listening to the live album a lot (and I mean a lot). I was never overly enamoured with 'Master..' and 'Ease on..' but the live versions are right up my street. Plus saw BPB/Matt S in London in August (phenomenal) and as it was the same band then brings me back... daveofficer - Blood Embrace live (right after I see A Darkness) made the trip all worthwhile
  3. Just thought I'd mention that I was in 1-Up at the weekend and they had virtually all the Bonnie 'Prince' Billy cd's on special offer at £7.99 each (except 'Summer...' which is a tenner). Apparently VITAL has a campaign on at the moment. If you ain't got them, then it's a perfect opportunity to stock up. Perfect christmas present material (not). And tickets are on sale at £15/£10 (but not in 1-Up). Roll on April...
  4. Not on Domino but on Drag City... http://www.dragcity.com/tours.html
  5. Oh man. lepeep was right, I thought he might be delusional! If it is even half as good as the London gig it'll be fucking great. Nice one.
  6. http://www.fender.com/products/search.php?partno=0213203000 Just over a year old, hardly been used (hence reason for sale!) Cost 299, sell 199. It's basic (only tone and volume control) but its one of the Hot Rod range and sounds great if you can wind up a bit (I can't - ain't tenement living just great). Neill
  7. A Class 5 indeed, from 7/2001 in cranberry. By god Gibson were quick to reply. Many thanks. Neill
  8. Cheers Clive. Having just looked up the FAQ's I'm slightly the wiser. Looks like a 2001 with burstbuckers. Other than that.... So really its a fancy Les Paul, I get it. Duh.
  9. Well it's definitely not a custom. It's pretty much looks like the Class 5 but the body is not sunburst (but is has what I would describe as zebra stripes). serial number CS11162. No certificate or care set, case doesn't even say Gibson (or that I can see)
  10. Excuse my ignorance (for it is great) but what exactly makes a custom shop Les Paul? How do you get an approx. value for one (secondhand)?
