  1. I agree about Kevin Carter. If you took out the brass and gave it shit production it would sound right on the Holy Bible. I think i might have seen this programme on the biography channel. Was the narrator Irish?
  2. If it's on ITV that means it will be shit. They'll say something like vocalist Sean Jones also writes the lyrics but they lost lead guitarist Richey James Dean Bradfield.
  3. That's an ace episode. The bit where they're at the sex shop and Ritchie stays at the door and the guy asks him if he wants anything and Ritchie berates him for suggesting there is something wrong with his sex life. "Will get out my shop then sir?" "No." "Why not?" "...it's a secret!"
  4. Jeez, doesn't sound too extreme or anything to me.
  5. Having just listened to it i now have a newly rediscovered appreciation of Generation Terrorists. I don't like the texture or sonic quality of the sound but it is mostly quite melodic. And I don't think all the lyrics are moronic. Some are just gung-ho.
  6. It has a big fucking likeness to Bon Jovi in parts. Especially Life Becoming a Landslide. Nothing stupid about that comment at all and you are in no position to comment with your pitiful knowledge of music. And I like the artwork so there's no way I'm giving it to you. And Hummer i think it's ridiculous that you could consider the lyrical content of a song bad purely because it's in the verse/chorus format.
  7. Bastard. All i've got is half a packet of Dextrose tablets...in fact it's not even half.
  8. Fopp great for books. The likes of 1984, The Outsider, the Plague for only 3 each! Or was it 5 each?? Still cheap.
  9. Gold Against the Soul sounds like Bon fucking Jovi in parts and has their most embarassingly cringeworthy song (Nostalgic Pushead) and two of the most pointless manics songs ever written (Drug Drug Druggy and Symphony of Tourettes). The proper official aceness of Manics albums: THB>EMG>LB>TIMTTMY>GT>KYE>GATS
  10. Iggy sings on Rolodex Propaganda. He kinda ruins it if you ask me.
  11. And a whole host of other idiots.
  12. I think it's superb. Way better than Generation Terrorists and Gold Against the Soul which are pretty much just embarassing.
  13. It will have Catacombs as well which was on most UK copies of the album but not mine cos i bought it right after release. Still, this is a shameless cash in.
  14. I listened to the Beatles 1 compilation the other day and it occurred to me that as far as singles are concerned the Kinks, the Doors and the Beach Boys all blow them out of the water. The Beatles singles really lack catchy melodies, Help seemingly being the only single with a strong melody.
  15. The Hollies, haha, I remember a while back my dad was listening to them and made me listen to part of a song to ask whether that "bwoom bwoom" sound is what we call a "guitar bass".
  16. Well you weren't expecting the Holy Bible were you?! Albums don't need killer tracks and I think Life Blood has one anway in Solitude Sometimes Is.
  17. Anyone bought it yet? I reackon it's their third best album and definitely an improvement on Know Your Enemy (although that ain't hard). It's only let down by a few duff tracks which are too middle of the road, especially I Live To Fall Asleep. Best tracks are 1985, A Song For Departure, To Repel Ghosts and Solitude Sometimes Is.
