  1. there should really be a the but: Mars Volta.
  2. That comment is so factually incorrect. Yes, on certain songs they have retained their trademark sound but even on those songs they have twisted it into somehting new, for example, Hysteria which crosses heavy riffage with fuzz pop and similarly Time is Running Out. Also look at the way they've enhanced their use of electronic sounds, for example, on Apocalypse Please to create that epic swirling effect and on Endlessly to create a lush ballad few bands could ever hope to achieve. It's quite bizzare how they were one of your favourite bands when they were a non-stop riffage machine but you pretty much despise them now they moved on into more exotic territory.
  3. Actually it IS JUST the video that is bad. The song is a great example of a piano ballad mixed with some good sonic landscapery to make something quite unique and refreshing.
  4. Hope of the...Damn he beat me to it. I can't think of many great videos but I know a bad one: Muse - Sing For Absolution

  6. Re: Re: What's Wrong With Me!! Because it's summer time, you don't need help, you just need more pop punk in your life. True but she should get an Ash album instead for some summery pop-punk. And sorry to disagree with Less Than Stu but you certainly should apologise for liking New Found Glory.
  7. Finally I accidentally posted this as a different thread altogether but here it is now. Omar Rodriguez-Lopez or Rhys Gambold the Idleeyes axe-wielder. Check out Idleeyes.cjb.net for mental riffage.

  15. Guitarist, bassist and vocalist seek a drummer and keyboardist/synth player who will also be willing to play other various instruments where required. Age and gender not important. Influential albums: "Closer" - Joy Division, "Holy Bible"- Manic Street Preachers, "De-loused in the Comatorium" - The Mars Volta, "Head Over Heels" - Cocteau Twins. If you're even remotely interested please get in touch, but we are looking for someone who is serious about making intense, life affirming music.
