I shall if they let me swap shifts at work - Truant on 1st then 9-5 shift then straight to Drakes for Shatterhand, Fighting Cougars and State Of Affairs! Huzzah! I've also got 'Fright Tonight' on my PC - both tracks are good musically but I'd like them to sound a bit more raucous but I prolly want that with every band Are the tracks a bit more frenetic live?
Downloaded and listene to once but I'll give you a rough opinion - 'Plane Crash' is the best of the three tracks I think. Quite spacey and I like the guitar work. 'The Void' is pretty good but comes across as too much of a comedy song (thanks mainly to the voice) but the ending was cool again quite spacey/stonery sorta thang. Gingerbread Man's really good as well. Almost a sorta rockabilly sound going on there. Thumbs up from this reviewer methinks
The only band that I've seen more than once in Aberdeen that I haven't enjoyed is Sirius really. There's a few bands that aren't really that amazing but if they put their all into their performance then I still enjoy them. Just means I wouldn't buy a shirt or CD.
I cannae wait - also have to purchase another copy of 'Monster's Ruin' as I gave my copy to Drowning The World In Requiem when they crashed at my flat on Friday Presuming it's still on sale mind.
I should see you guys in May with Lapsus Linguae and Orwell. Thought of something else that makes me more likely to go to a gig - if members of said band post on here I am more interested in hearing what they're like or seeing what they're like live. Strange and slightly creepy I know but there you go
It's 'cause you usually get the fag for free and everyone knows that we Scottish people have a stereotype to uphold! You're offered something for free you take it
Definitely one of the albums this year that I'm most looking forward to. I agree with Paul as well about the album quality thing. Lesser bands probably dream about writing a tune like 'Starfuckers'
This thread is one of my favourites lately - surely it was pretty obvious to him that he'd made a big mistake? I s'pose it gave drummers 4 days of excitement that they might get to join TEN
I just basically go to see anything that interests me when I'm free. The Internet being so popular means that most bands have at least one mp3 on their website so you can get a feel for them and decide whether to go or not. Opinions from friends also make me go to gigs but living in town it's almost rude not to when you can walk to any of the music venues (minus a.e.c.c) within 10 minutes.
I'm quite looking forward to see which local/Scottish bands are playing T. Be amusing to see a tent full of Aberdeen peeps watching SEA or Turning 13 when they could do it on their doorstep
Small Enclosed Areas? The Contra? Wha? Anyways good bands in there indeed - Allergo, Turning 13, Contra, Certain Death, SEA and Lipsick better be giving it their all...
They're pretty good actually. As Ant moaned on at me they're not as good as 'proper' psychobilly I'm told. Check out bands like Demented Are Go, The Meteors, The Klingonz and Mad Sin if your ears are pleased by the Horrorpops. They still get the thumbs up from me mind
Seeing as I keep hearing so much (mostly from you guys ) about MMW I'm expecting a damn good performance tomorrow night as it'll be the first time I've seen de band so impress me you shall (hopefully)
