  1. Slightly rubbissed by most of the bands pulling out but excitement heightened by the fact that Broken Oath rocked the casbah (as expected) and most of 'Famous Monsters' was played after ze bands. Huzzah indeed and bring on 'Hardcore Month'
  2. I tell thee Kate this was a barnstorming gig! It had it all! Controversial rockers! Filmage for the record! Zombie dancing! Dry bumming! And still it left an unbitter taste in the mouth! Drakes is praised as the greatest venue to fall down in within Aberdeen!
  3. Surprised no one's mentioned Ninjatune yet - The Herbaliser, Amon Tobin, DJ Vadim, Mr.Scruff, DJ Food, Funki Porcini, Kid Koala - a sterling group of artists! I love loads of the Warp Records output as well. Not really sure about more rock labels but Buddyhead releases some damn fine stuff and Mute is always interesting.
  4. Get The Swellbellys or Errata back Are Assert too big to play Drakes these days?
  5. Anyone else there? (except Callum ) good lineup of bands with Midasuno being the clinker for me - Colour Of Fire a bit pretentious perchance? Turning 13 most pleasing and interested to hear the new direction they're pursuing after the leaving of Steve.
  6. When and where is this Danko Jones gig that you speak of? Might be a nice venture if The Bronx are playing.
  7. The gang show went on past ten so I missed this
  8. I really like Avenged Sevenfold but I never picked them as being one of these bands that people would dislike so much - from magazines having a pop, from countless message board sessions and even the mighty Converge have had a go! Have to agree with the Atreyu and The Bronx praise and be pissed off once again that I didn't get tickets for Lostprophets/Avenged Sevenfold/The Bronx in Glasgow.
  9. I've mentioned this quite a lot to people but can you imagine one of these younger kids sitting through IOWA all the way through? It's not that easy listening to be fair is it?

    PJ Harvey

Yeah the NME website confirmed them as headlining the NME tent this year - highly looking forward to seeing them on my first ever visit to T In The Park
  11. Totally love the new Squarepusher album - fantastico indeed and agree with the Boards Of Canada and Autechre recommendations as well. I caught him (Squarepusher) at Leeds festival last year and was most impressed although a lot of the people there were complaining that it was disappointing and too much fannying about with his bass.

Along with Goldfrapp, Massive Attack, N*E*R*D, David Bowie, The Pixies and The Chemical Brothers as bands I've never seen at this festival I'm definitely getting a ticket by the end of the week
  13. I didn't realise that this was tonight - like it was said I've seen no promotion for it really. Unfortunately I'm going to see the gang show at the arts centre as my little sister's in it. Fingers crossed it'll be over by 10 at the latest then.
  14. The soundtracks to 'Run Lola Run' and 'Natural Born Killers' get the thumbs up from me - seems that people who worked on the 'Run Lola Run' soundtrack also worked on the 'One Hour Photo' soundtrack. Must check that one out.
  15. It's like a scoring-heroin-on-market-street-at-3-in-the-morning-cold-turkey-arrgharghargh version of Jonathan Creek...
  16. I get Kerrang! if there's a cd on the front or if I'm going on a train or something but I can't really be arsed with it generally. Metal Hammer's good and Rock Sound always has a good cd with it but NME? I get it if there's a free cd (the shameless free cd whore that I am) but remember when they championed Andrew WK as the 'new Nirvana'??? How can you ever forgive someone something like that???
  17. Very pleasing indeed - especially for a demo. Listened to the Soul Doubt track in the above signature as well and it's good as well! Praise all round!
  18. Well you know what they say - it's always the laid-back, cool guys that are thinking of doing the vilest things to you...
  19. All I know is they're playing on the 18th of April at the Lemon Tree but that's probably all on the poster non?
  20. plus you have to put up with the infamous 'bassist's temper'...
