  1. We will be onstage sometime around 11.15, maybe 11.30. Make sure you head along in plenty time, its gonna be a banger!
  2. Can't allow this to go past unnoticed. Chris Maguire has been AFC's top player this season, and it's not even close. I know you dislike him, but don't let prejudice colour the facts; he might have been a bawbag over the years (and I'm sure he still is today), but he has developed into a very good attacker. Also, the idea of joining Notts County and needing a couple of years to 'settle and adapt to a higher level of football' is laughable. It beggars belief.
  3. A wee vid of us covering the traditional country-folk song When The Roses Bloom Again in our rehearsal room See you tomorrow!
  4. TYVM for this. Absolutey brilliant! Prop Joe originally being called Doughboy cracked me up
  5. Vegans parp like nobody else. They're at it all the time. No diet that produces trumps like theirs can be healthy
  6. Wish they had both managed to lose
  7. Hicks and Stanhope. Hate little smug fuds like McIntyre.
  8. That's the problem though, Andy. The only way in which somebody will believe in something like this is through first-hand experience, which is unbelievably rare (or non-existent, depending on what you believe). Again, I come back to the similarities with religion/belief in a God (or whatever definition...) in that the very concept goes against common sense/rationale. However, lack of subjective experience != lack of its existence. The default stance of most people is 'I haven't experienced it, therefore it is absurd', which is an understandable but flawed viewpoint. The burden of proof will always be on the believer rather than the sceptic, but the concept of proof in subjects such as this is tricky as it demands rational explanations of a topic that is inherently irrational.. For example, Phil's friend's dad; the scar on his back and his emotional response to the subject are not proof, although they are convincing enough to make an impression. Likewise, some people are adamant that they have met God/experienced miracles etc. However, while their story may deepen the Faith of those who already believe, a sceptic will remain a scpetic until proof manifests itself to them specifically. Most people are sceptical by nature, and it is easier to be a non-believer than a believer in any topic that requires a suspension of disbelief. However, anybody who ridicules anybody else for their beliefs warrants more derision than the believer. That is why Atheists infuriate me; their adamance is as ludicrous to thosse with an open mind as Believers appear to them.
  9. O come on! You surely must be attempting humour again, because that is a ludicrous argument.
  10. Although it makes for an interesting debate, the reincarnation issue is much like religion in that you end up getting people who are ridiculously, irrationally vehement on either side of the fence, despite the fact that we cannot ever know the truth with certainty. I think that there is so much that goes on that requires a leap of faith or at least, a degree of openmindedness that does not come naturally to most people. IMO Occams Razor cannot be applied to subjects that, by their very nature, require a suspension of disbelief. A concession is implicit when discussing these subjects that the obvious explanation (ie hes spikkin shite!) must be put to one side for the sake of debate.
  11. Total garbage. Paul Hartley has been excellent this season. His performances have gone a little flat in the last 6 weeks or so as we have been playing so many games. Still, against Hearts earlier in the month he was MOTM by a mile. He is a good player, and we need our good players fit. We will miss him if he's out for the rest of the season.
  12. Beating Celtic then singing 'I Just Can't Get Enough' at the end will be one of the finest moments in any Dons fan's life. Gotta be positive.
  13. Slootboogs, have you ever considered moving to a nicer area? A genuine question, not being sarky. Sounds like you put up with all kinds of shit with neighbours.
  14. Yep, I actually googled 'Ferdy from This Life' to get the piccie Phil is right, it's called Boiler Room. Ace film. Someone else's turn
  15. How about this one: Giovani Ribisi plays a guy who runs a casino from his apartment, while through the days works as an aggressive stocks trader. Vin Diesel co-stars as a white collar dude, as does B-Fleck. I actualy know what its called, but guess away! Its an ace film, surprised it never really caught on.
  16. First film - was this guy in it? If so, I watched it too!
  17. Gary Megson is fucking terrifying! He is quite the opposite of timid (although he does look a bit like an older Toby).
  18. Jesus, men and woman are different. Equality is all well and good, annd of course should be the norm WRT earnings etc, but it is a sad day in which a simple act of politeness is being discussed as potentially sexist (not accusing anyone btw). It feels like some folks wont be happy until we are one big androgynous race, scared of holding a door open for someone for fear of being accused of sexism. On subjects such as equal pay, equal rights etc of course there should be no difference twixt man and woman. However, simple gender-based traits should not be lost. When I offer to carry a female friends shopping, for example, I am not questioning whether or not I am being patronising or sexist; I am merely acting politely because it is the nice thing to do. Normally the obvious explanation is the correct one; there is no sinister or sexist motive.
