  1. I will have finished my exams and will be in the mood for getting very, very drunk Anything decent gigs happening?
  2. Hey Colin i would like to meet up with you some time next week so that we could sample some classical stuff that I mentioned a while ago? Cheers jayne
  3. Beyerdynamic Opus 155 Mk II Set. VHF Wireless System consists of Beyer NE 100 S VHF Reciever and Beyer TS 100 Mk II Transmitter mini XLR The set is still under manufacturers guarantee until July 2009. I bought this from a European site so it has European plug, but I have a Europe-UK plug adapter that I will include in the sale. It also comes with a small vocal microphone that you wear as a headset. This came in handy for a singing gig with Sumisumi where I was walking around while singing, or as someone described it 'robotic shuffling' Also selling: Beyer Opus 82.18 Clip-on condenser Mic. 4-pin mini XLR connection, which works with the Beyer transmitter. This is a gooseneck mic, I have been using it by attaching it onto the bell of my saxophone. It would be ideal for any woodwind or brass instruments who fancy being wirelessly miced-up. Still under guarantee until July 2009. Both mic and wireless system have literally only been used a few times for gigs. Wireless system cost me 215, mic cost me 125, 340 in total. I would like to sell them as a set to minimise hassle, so I am asking for 270.
  4. portman group - what a bunch of gits. I hope Brewdog will kick their asses.
  5. I was wondering why they weren't on last...?
  6. that is effin fantastic, well done Amy and her band.
  7. I saw Dr. Gillian McKeith from 'you are what you eat' at Edinburgh airport. Now that I think of it, a good indication of a crap celeb is when you feel you have to explain why they are famous
  8. Hi everyone I have recently upgraded to a new alto sax so I have my old one to sell. It comes with a bag, crook and mouthpiece. I probably have some reeds I can throw in too. It doesn't have a name on it, it just has an imprint of 'foreign' on it. I did a bit of research online, and I think that this was done to imported brass instruments during the 1960s. This saxophone has been well gigged, I have had no problems with any of it. It could probably do with a service to tighten up the mechanisms a wee bit, but it is in playable condition as is. I would say that this is a good beginner's sax; it's quite old so has a decent tone, but the intonation isn't great.
  9. beatnic prestige are a great wee band, I will come along and say hi.
  10. I like making chocolate brownies: 200g plain chocolate 200g butter/marg 50g caster sugar 3 eggs a handful of mini marshmallows 80g plain flour 40g cocoa powder boil some water in a pan, put a bowl over the top and melt the plain chocolate and butter together. In another bowl, whisk the 3 eggs with the caster sugar. Try to use an electric whisk, the sugar and eggs should turn a pale yellow colour and should increase quite a bit in volume. Slowly add the chocolate/butter mixture to the whisked eggs, a wee bit at a time. Then add the flour and cocoa powder. The mixture will seem very dry at first, but keep going it will turn out nice. Mix in some marshmallows and that's you. Put the mixture into a buttered tray and bake for 20 minutes at about 170c.

  20. To be honest I think there was a lot of time faffing about with no music playing, I think you were setting up the DJ things or something. Still, not ideal to there to be no music. Loved the night though, it was great to see so many different things going on.
  21. How about the old guy that used to reside outside Gilcomston church? I haven't seen him there for a while.
