  1. I have done this before, I used Sony Sonicstage to upload the minidisc files then turned them to WAV files, then converted them to mp3 and burned a CD. Does that help?
  2. yeah, pretty sure that most if not all countries in south america speak a dialect of spanish. Sorry, don't know anyone who speaks spanish. I do know the essentials though: "dos cervesa por favor signor"
  3. A few people have contacted me about singing lessons. I don't have time to start my singing practice again, but I can give people random lessons on an ad-hoc basis. PM me if you are interested.

  8. yeah you are right, they are original in that way, I just meant that they stood out in Aberdeen.
  9. No offence, but that advise is a load of bollocks. If you have to eat lozenges before you sing, that means that you have bad singing technique and you are making your throat sore because of it. They don't relax vocal chords, they just numb them. Which in the end gets you nowhere, you are damaging your voice but you don't notice it, which makes things worse. You should only use them as a last resort, and I mean last resort eg. you have a cold but you have a gig booked.
  10. Really good advice here, I am a choral scholar and basically I agree with Rock. The first thing you need to work on is breathing properly. Everything is easier when you have got this sorted. Also, I would say that you need to make sure that no part of your body is tense while you do this. You need to be relaxed, resist the urge to stiffen up if you are trying hard to do something. The thing with singing is that your body is your instrument, and anything that you do that instrument will affect your singing. Incidentally, if you fancy getting some lessons, PM me and we can do a deal
  11. from what I remember, colonopenbracket were nothing if not a breath of fresh air. They were something completely different when they were up here. I'm not sure if I like them or not, but I respect them for having that courage.
  12. I will try to head down, this looks reallly ace, thanks for organising this.
  13. a yamaha 62 would be ace :-)

  15. Don't suppose anyone has an alto saxophone lying about that they don't use? I am looking for an upgrade to my current alto sax. Needs to be good quality, something like Trevor James, Yamaha, Selmer, etc. Long shot but worth a try. cheers Jayne

  20. I remember this thread, lol, this must be the best ever. Is sparkles still here?
  21. has anyone ever got their bank charges refunded? I used to be absolutely disastrous with money, and so racked up quite a lot of charges, particularly during one Christmas where I was so skint I would write out cheques that I knew would bounce :-) I was quite sceptical about the whole refunding thing but my bank sent me a letter saying in so many words that they were not liable in any way, but would " as a goodwill gesture" offer me a four figure sum. Woo hoo!!!
  22. The stage door does an ace steak. The best that I had in Aberdeen by far was at The Tunnels, but unfortunately they don't do food anymore :-(
  23. So far we have cooking, hoovering, blowjobs and beer.. Oh and I have to remember the nips of whisky, I know he likes a wee swally every now and again. That's ok as long as he can empty the hoover bag and put the bins out In exchange, I think the general rule should be if in doubt, bring wine :-) Yeah Alan remember us when you're famous, you mega talented git (jealous, moi?).
