  1. Porcupine Tree, Tangerine Dream tho it seems the music i always go back to is Hawkwind, King Crimson, and Steve Hillage...
  2. hehehehe Yeah cats are just awesome speaking of funny things happening to guitars, my old guitar teacher told me a story that he once found a burger with a bite out of it in one of his acoustic guitars (placed there by his kids). Well... that made me laugh like hell, especially when i imagine his reaction to finding it - such a character he was! Oh Alfie Noakes, i wish i had seen it...
  3. the best live album i've got is probably "Fleetwood Mac - Boston BLues", Peter Green era ofcourse Just really awesome to hear how well Jeremy Spencer and Peter Green play off each other. Really stunning! Also "King Crimson's Cirkus" is really good also
  4. Yeah, Lateralus would be ace to have in the jukebox
  5. No way! Budgie? I didn't know they were playing in Aberdeen. I would definately go, but i'm totally skint
  6. Now really... lol Mr Hendrix took guitar playing to a totally new level, and was the first to do so. The reason all the other guitarists don't have anything on Hendrix (tho some may be, technically, more proficient), is solely because he brought guitar playing forward on such a massive scale. Nobody has brought guitar further forward as significantly as Hendrix did. I'm not keen on vai or satriani. Their playing style may be technically stunning, but it's just cold and with no real emotion coming through. As regards genuises in Aberdeen, you'd really have to define genius a bit more for me, i think. It'd be a lot easier just to name my fav Aberdeen act... Staccato Set!!!!!!!
  7. hah, yeah i never thought i'd see such a positive reaction for dire straits. i prefer knopfler's solo stuff, tho my favourite Straits era was the early days. The first two albums were so cool sounding, with that ace JJ Cale touch. Still i'm a big fan of all their eras... Yeah, I'm going down to see him in Edinburgh next year and looking forward to it. Also really like the notting hillbillies
  8. Ah yes, that track really is amazing!
  9. I've been writing a lot of music that I really want to play with this band, but still a lack of a drummer... I'm really dying to get this music played in a band, so if any drummers are even just curious, lemme know...
  10. Just curious to know what everyone's worst album they've bought is... Mine would have to be Jeff Beck's "Blow by blow" (just a load of totally nonsense to me), Roger Waters "Radio Kaos" (just one of the worst/cheesiest albums ever), and, i hate to admit, the James Bond Theme Collection... Doesn't everyone have a copy of some kind of james bond theme compilation on cd??? *buries head in hands*
  11. Anyone heard and like Steve Hillage in this thread? Now hes a real dude
  12. I'm still listening to Wishbone Ash's Argus... I just seriously can't put take that cd out of my hi fi. So good!

    Oh god!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Is this going to become a regular friday thing?
  15. Yeah Wishbone Ash - Argus would be great to hear at the moorings Also i can't stress how much i'd love to see Hawkwind back in the dukebox!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. I may also very well be there... Sounds ace!!!!!!!!!
  17. Also a brilliant album is King Crimson's "Cirkus" - the young person's guide to King Crimson Live. I'd recommend this to any KC fan, it really has the best of every King Crimson period live 1st cd - Thela hun ginjeet, elephant talk, indiscilpline, red... sooooooooooooooooo good 2nd cd - 21st century schizoid man, etc... 2nd cd has poor quality, but its really worth buying the first cd even if just for that. It's awesome!
  18. fleetwood mac - Boston Blues Keep in mind this is Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac - none of this 80s shite...
  19. My childhood band... Seen them twice before, and they were ace. More good fun than what i'd normally buy... If they played some more of their early stuff (pictures of matchstick men) then i'd love em'...
  20. So any people here who didn't go see HIM but came to see Wishbone Ash instead???? well i thought they were totally awesome, and the support Jerry Jablonski was also totally awesome. On the down side Wishbone's newer songs have, potentially, the worst lyrics in the world... Anyone else there at all?!?!?!
