  1. I own a microkorg and its one of the coolest things i own. It adds such a depth to the recordings we did. You can find them on the "Lets start a real feedback..." post on the feedback forum. On the last page of that thread there's a link to The Void's mp3s. Download "The Void" and hear how awesome the synth can sound.
  2. BENNY HILL! BENNY HILL!! BENNY HILL!
  3. yeah i really enjoyed artik. great first gig, and can't wait to hear how they develope! Maybe a bass guitarist would be good, and some hammond solos!!!!!!!!!! Though i enjoyed all the bands thoroughly. Apraxia i thought were awesome. Great funky bass guitar! FG were also extremely tight and sounded cool
  4. Ok here's my review of it. Pretty different from what would normally come out of the local scene. Very atmospheric, good incidental music that would be good with a film. The sudden change to that pumping heavyness is really quite extreme and intense, not sure what the idea about that is, and to me it seems pretty out of place. But i really like the slow atmospheric section. The guitar licks are being finger picked, right? Sounds very much like Mark Knopfler actually. The sounds in the background suit the atmosphere quite nicely, and overall its a very atmospheric track. Probably best used in a film score somewhere. Maybe for a lone detective sharing a quiet evening with a bottle of jack daniels on his balcony. The guitar licks are really ace also!
  5. if there is anyway i could include Zappa and Captain Beefheart
  6. Guitars: Steve Hillage Guitars: Robert Fripp Synthesizer: Steve Hillage & Richard Wright Drums: Bill Bruford Bass: Roger Waters Vocals and more fucking guitars: Syd Barret Wholey fuck can you imagine that? I'd die of pleasure
  7. The production is cool, though it isn't really my type of music. Something about the guitar tone im not liking, i just dont think the music is for me. For what it is though, it sounds pretty good and tight, and if your into that type of thing, im sure you'd enjoy it. The solo gives the song an anthem feel. I think the quiet section after the solo could sound much better if the guitar tone was changed. Use a more echoey effect, maybe it could have a sigur ros feel. Pretty good, but i wouldn't listen to it. COuld be made better with more management on the guitar tone during the lighter sections
  8. ill give it my opinion, although you should check out our mp3s in return... You can find them under the post "TheVoid MP3s" . your opinion on our music would be cool!
  9. 1. King Crimson - Red 2. Nick Drake - Way to blue 3. Ozric Tentacles - Live underslunky 4. Captain Beefheart - Electricity 5. King Crimson - Cirkus
  10. http://www.angelfire.com/psy/thevoid/ Feel free to comment on our tracks, space rock tracks being The Void, and Plane Crash, while another more rocky one in Gingerbread Man. any feedback apreciated
  11. erm, ive forgotten, and was hoping someone could remind me...
  12. hmm, it seems everyone else gets reviewed, but not us... please give us a shot, and w'll review yours in return
  13. Well i love Tool and Porcupine Tree are totally awesome. Dream Theatre probably should be on the list, though they are a bit shite at times (i.e. "The spirit carries on", worst song ever, lyrically, musically, and in all cheesyness)
  14. a good opportunity to catch The Void on the 7th May at Kef, supporting prog rockers, Gonga. Full electricity this time, and a really good line up!
  15. they are also playing the 13th June at the Lemon tree with Turning 13 and The Void another band will be playing also, but that position is still open
  16. JUNE 13TH, Lemon Tree A battle of the bands for a friend's charity project! Will be awesome. So far bands include: Turning 13 AKA The Fox The Void another band yet to be confirmed
  17. Any feedback on this gig? I missed it unfortuntely Was it good?
  18. see us with the synth in all electricity, and then you will feel the full force of it. I know, Matt, but i just cant help myself tinkering with that magnificent piece of equipment!
  19. yeah, ill be there too bryn, hehe The Void are playing also Hopefully our space-rock genre will be a good partnership for the progressive rock influenced Gonga. Im really looking forward to playing this gig and hearing them PS I love every floyd album!!!!
  20. Come on, can someone else give us a review? We'll review something of yours in return...
  21. embarresed???! No way, this is certainly an album which im proud to love! The Salmon song is probably the best song on the album, if it is the first track, which i think it is. Raga section is awesome!!!!!
  22. as in the music is boring or its a cliche to listen to it? The music is certainly not boring for me. Its some of the most spaced out music ever. Shine on you crazy diamond is the ultimate space epic, and i just find the music very appropriate for how i feel after some stonerage
  23. someone said its unfair on staff to have to put up with smoking in pubs and clubs. Well DUH, you get a job in a pub, what do you expect? Besides, the customer always comes first Im for smoking in pubs and clubs, it wouldnt be the same without the smoke floating around to add to the atmosphere. poeple need to stop being so concerned over pro-longing life. Honestly, live a little. Have some more fun. Dont be stuck witha long life of nothingness and boring sobermindedness
